9. At-Tawbah

இன்னும், அவர்கள் சிறிய அளவிலோ, பெரிய அளவிலோ செலவு செய்வதுமில்லை, எந்தப் பள்ளத்தாக்கையும் அவர்கள் கடப்பதுமில்லை, அவர்களுக்கு (அவைகள் நற்கருமங்களாக) எழுதப்பட்டே தவிர, காரணம் அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைக்கு மிக அழகான கூலியை அவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் நல்குவதற்காகவே.

Nor do they spend anything (in Allâh’s Cause) - small or great - nor cross a valley, but is written to their credit that Allâh may recompense them with the best of what they used to do (i.e. Allâh will reward their good deeds according to the reward of their best deeds which they did in the most perfect manner).¹

   Narrated Abu Sa‘îd Al-Khudrî رضي الله عنه: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "If a person embraces Islâm sincerely, then Allâh shall forgive all his past sins, and after that starts the settlement of accounts: the reward of his good deeds will be ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed, and an evil deed will be recorded as it is unless Allâh forgives it." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.1, Hadith No. 40A)

   Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه : Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "If anyone of you improves (follow strictly) his Islâmic religion, then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.1, Hadith No.4DB)

விசுவாசிகள் ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக (ஊரை விட்டு) புறப்பட்டுச் செல்லலாகாது, அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு கூட்டத்திலிருந்தும் ஒரு சிறிய கூட்டத்தார் மார்க்கத்தை விளங்கிக் கொள்வதற்காகவும், இன்னும் அவர்களின் கூட்டத்தாரை அவர்கள் பால் திரும்பிவிடும்பொழுது எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதற்காகவும் அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுச் செல்ல வேண்டாமா? (அதன் மூலம்) அவர்கள் (தீயவைகளை) தவிர்த்துக் கொள்ளலாம்.

And it is not (proper) for the believers to go out to fight (Jihâd ) all together. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may get instructions in (Islâmic) religion, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware (of evil).

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! நிராகரிப்போரிலிருந்து உங்களை அடுத்திருப்போருடன் போர் செய்யுங்கள், அவர்கள் உங்களிடம் கடுமையையே காணவேண்டும், இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், பயபக்தியுடையோர்களுடன் இருக்கின்றான் என்பதை நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you; and know that Allâh is with those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - See V.2:2).

மேலும், ஏதேனும் ஓர் (புதிய) அத்தியாயம் இறக்கிவைக்கப்பட்டால் “உங்களில் யாருக்கு இது விசுவாசத்தை அதிகப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறது?” என்று கேட்கக்கூடியவர்களும் அவர்களில் இருக்கின்றனர், ஆகவே, விசுவாசங்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர் அவர்களுக்கு அது விசுவாசத்தை அதிகப்படுத்திவிட்டது, (இதுகுறித்து) அவர்களோ மகிழ்ச்சியடைகின்றனர்.

And whenever there comes down a Sûrah (chapter from the Qur’ân), some of them (hypocrites) say: "Which of you has had his Faith increased by it?" As for those who believe, it has increased their Faith, and they rejoice.

அன்றியும் எவர்களுடைய இதயங்களில் நோய் இருக்கின்றதோ, அத்தகையோர் அவர்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய அசுத்தத்துக்கு மேல் அசுத்தத்தையே அது அதிகப்படுத்திவிட்டது, இன்னும், அவர்கள் நிராகரித்தவர்களாக இறந்தும் விட்டனர்.

But as for those in whose hearts is a disease (of doubt, disbelief and hypocrisy), it will add suspicion and doubt to their suspicion, disbelief and doubt; and they die while they are disbelievers.

“நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு வருடத்திலும் ஒரு தடவையோ அல்லது இரு தடவையோ (துன்பங்களுக்குள்ளாகிச்) சோதிக்கப்படுகின்றனர்” என்பதையும் (அதன்) பிறகும் அவர்கள் தவ்பாச்செய்து மீள்வதுமில்லை, நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுவதுமில்லை, என்பதையும் அவர்கள் காணவில்லையா?

See they not that they are put in trial once or twice every year (with different kinds of calamities, disease, famine)? Yet, they turn not in repentance, nor do they learn a lesson (from it).

இன்னும், ஓர் அத்தியாயம் இறக்கிவைக்கப்பட்டால், அவர்களில் சிலர் சிலரைப் பார்க்கின்றனர், (கண்ணால் சாடை காட்டி, விசுவாசிகளில்) “உங்களை எவரும் பார்த்தாரா? என்று (கேட்டுவிட்டுப்) பின்னர் திரும்பி விடுகின்றனர், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் (சத்தியத்தை) விளங்கிக் கொள்ள முடியாத கூட்டத்தாராக இருப்பதன் காரணத்தால் அல்லாஹ் அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களை திருப்பிவிட்டான்.

And whenever there comes down a Sûrah (chapter from the Qur’ân), they look at one another (saying): "Does any one see you?" Then they turn away. Allâh has turned their hearts (from the light) because they are a people that understand not.

(விசுவாசிகளே! உங்களிலிருந்தே திட்டமாக ஒரு தூதர் உங்களிடம் வந்திருக்கின்றார், (உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு துன்பம் ஏற்பட்டு) நீங்கள் கஷ்டப்படுவது அவருக்கு மிக வருத்தமாக இருக்கும், உங்கள் மீது மிக்க பேராசை கொண்டவர், விசுவாசிகளோடு மிக இரக்கமுள்ளவர், மிகக் கிருபையுடையவர்.

Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) from amongst yourselves (i.e. whom you know well). It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is anxious over you (to be rightly guided, to repent to Allâh, and beg Him to pardon and forgive your sins in order that you may enter Paradise and be saved from the punishment of the Hell-fire); for the believers (he صلى الله عليه وسلم is) full of pity, kind, and merciful.

(நபியே! இதற்குப்)பின்னரும், அவர்கள் (உம்மை ஏற்காது) விலகிக் கொண்டாலும், (அவர்களிடம்,) நீர் கூறுவீராக “அல்லாஹ்வே எனக்குப் போதுமானவன், அவனைத் தவிர வணக்கத்திற்குரிய (வேறு நாயனில்லை) அவன் மீது (என் காரியங்களை ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) நம்பிக்கை வைத்துள்ளேன், அவனே மகத்தான அர்ஷின் அதிபதியாவான்”

But if they turn away, say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Allâh is sufficient for me. Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) in Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne."¹
