7. Al-A'raf

அலிஃப் லாம் மீம் ஸாத்.

Alif-Lâm-Mîm-Sâd. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]

(நபியே! இது) உம் மீது இறக்கப்பட்டுள்ள வேதமாகும், இவ்வேதத்தை மக்களுக்கு எத்திவைப்பதனால் உம்முடைய நெஞ்சத்தில் யாதொரு கலக்கமும் இருக்க வேண்டாம், இதனைக் கொண்டு நீர் (மனிதர்களுக்கு) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வதற்காகவும், விசுவாசங்கொண்டோருக்கு ஒரு நல்லுபதேசமாகவும் இவ்வேதம் இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

(This is the) Book (the Qur’ân) sent down unto you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby; and a reminder unto the believers.

(மனிதர்களே!) உங்களுக்காக உங்கள் இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து இறக்கி வைக்கப்பட்ட இவ்வேதத்தைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள், அவனையன்றி மற்றெவரையும் உங்களுக்குப் பாதுகாவலர்(களாக ஆக்கி அவர்)களை நீங்கள் பின்பற்றாதீர்கள், எனினும், இதனைக் கொண்டு) நீங்கள் மிகக் குறைவாகவே நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறுகிறீர்கள்.

[Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Qur’ân and Prophet Muhammad’s Sunnah), and follow not any Auliyâ’ (protectors and helpers who order you to associate partners in worship with Allâh), besides Him (Allâh). Little do you remember!

இன்னும், (அல்லாஹ்வின் தூதர்களைப் பொய்யாக்கியும் அவர்களுக்கு மாற்றமாகவும் நடந்து வந்தவர்கள் வசித்திருந்த) எத்தனையோ ஊர்களை–அவற்றை நாம் அழித்திருக்கின்றோம், இரவோடு இரவாக, அல்லது அவர்கள் (களைப்பாறுவதற்காக) பகலில் தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்க நம்முடைய வேதனை அவற்றை வந்தடைந்தது.

And a great number of towns (their population) We destroyed (for their crimes). Our torment came upon them (suddenly) by night or while they were taking their midday nap.

நம்முடைய வேதனை அவர்களுக்கு வந்தடைந்தபோது “நிச்சயமாக நாம் அநியாயக்காரர்களாகி விட்டோம்” என்று அவர்கள் கூறியதைத் தவிர வேறு எதுவும் அவர்களுடைய கூப்பாடாக இருக்கவில்லை.

No cry did they utter when Our Torment came upon them but this: "Verily, we were Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)".

ஆகவே, எவர்கள்பால் தூதர்கள் அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டார்களோ அவர்களையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் கேட்டு விசாரிப்போம், மேலும், (நம்முடைய) தூதர்களையும் நிச்சயமாக நாம் கேட்டு விசாரிப்போம்.

Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers.

(அவர்களின் செயலைப்பற்றி நாம் நன்கறிந்துள்ளவாறு (விசாரணைக் காலத்தில்) நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களுக்குக் கூறிக்காண்பிப்போம், இன்னும் (அவர்களின் சகல நிலைகளை விட்டும்) மறைந்திருப்பவர்களாக நாம் இருக்கவில்லை.

Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We have not been absent.

மேலும், (ஒவ்வொருவரின் நன்மை தீமைகளையும்) அந்நாளில் (கூடுதல் குறைவின்றி) எடைபோடுவது உண்மையாகும், அப்போது எவர்களுடைய (நன்மையின்) எடைகள் கனத்தனவோ அவர்கள்தாம் நிச்சயமாக வெற்றியாளர்கள்.

And the weighing on that day (Day of Resurrection) will be the true (weighing)¹. So as for those whose scale (of good deeds) will be heavy, they will be the successful (by entering Paradise).

   The Statement of Allâh عز وجل:

   "And We shall set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection." (V.21:47).

   The deeds and the statement of Adam’s offspring will be weighed.

   Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, (There are) two words (expressions or sayings) which are dear to the Most Gracious (Allâh) and very easy for the tongue to say, but very heavy in the balance. They are: سبحان الله وبحمده - سبحان الله العظيم

   Subhân Allâhi-wa bihamdihi - Subhân Allâhil-‘Azîm’ " (Sahih Al-Bukhârî, Vol. 9. hadîth No.652).

   ‘Glorified be Allâh and praised be He’ - ‘Glorified be Allâh, the Most Great.’ (or I deem Allâh above all those unsuitable things ascribed to Him, and free Him from resembling anything whatsoever, and I glorify His Praises! I deem Allâh, the Most Great above all those unsuitable things ascribed to Him and free Him from resembling anything whatsoever).

இன்னும், எவர்களுடைய நன்மையின் எடைகள் (கனம் குறைந்து) இலோசாக இருக்கின்றனவோ அத்தகையோர், நம்முடைய வசனங்களை பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததன் காரணமாக அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குத் தாமே நஷ்டமிழைத்துக் கொண்டவர்கள் ஆவர்.

And as for those whose scale will be light, they are those who will lose their ownselves (by entering Hell) because they denied and rejected Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

(மனிதர்களே!) மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் உங்களை பூமியில் அனைத்து அதிகாரங்களுடன்) வசிக்கச் செய்தோம், அதில் உங்களுக்கு வாழ்க்கை வசதிக்குரிய (அனைத்து) சாதனங்களையும் நாம் ஆக்கித் தந்தோம், (இவ்வாறிருந்தும்) நீங்கள் மிகக் குறைவாகவே நன்றி செலுத்துகிறீர்கள்.

And surely, We gave you authority on the earth and appointed for you therein provisions (for your life). Little thanks do you give.

இன்னும், திட்டமாக நாம் உங்களைப் படைத்தோம், பின்பு உங்களுக்கு உருவமமைத்தோம், அதன் பின்னர் “ஆதமுக்குச் சிரம் பணியுங்கள்” என மலக்குகளுக்கு நாம் கூறினோம், அப்பொழுது இப்ஸீஸைத் தவிர (மற்ற யாவரும் அவருக்கு) சிரம் பணிந்தார்கள், சிரம் பணிந்தவர்களில் அவன் இருக்கவில்லை.

And surely, We created you (your father Adam) and then gave you shape (the noble shape of a human being); then We told the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", and they prostrated themselves, except Iblîs (Satan), he refused to be of those who prostrated themselves.

(ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ் இப்லீஸிடம்) “நான் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட சமயத்தில் நீ சிரம் பணிவதிலிருந்து உன்னைத் தடுத்தது எது?” என்று கேட்டான், அதற்கு “நான் அவரைவிட மேலானவன், (ஏனென்றால்) நீ என்னை நெருப்பால் படைத்தாய், அவரையோ களிமண்ணால் படைத்தாய்” என்று (இறுமாப்புடன் இப்லீஸாகிய) அவன் கூறினான்.

(Allâh) said: "What prevented you (O Iblîs) that you did not prostrate yourself, when I commanded you?" Iblîs said: "I am better than him (Adam), You created me from fire, and him You created from clay."

“இதிலிருந்து நீ இறங்கிவிடு, நீ இதில் பெருமை கொள்வதற்கு உனக்குத் தகுதியில்லை, ஆதலால், நீ வெளியேறிவிடு, (உன் பெருமையின் காரணமாக) நிச்சயமாக நீ சிறுமைப் பட்டோரில் இருக்கின்றாய்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் கூறினான்.

(Allâh) said: "(O Iblîs) get down from this (Paradise), it is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out, for you are of those humiliated and disgraced."

(அதற்கு இப்லீஸாகிய) அவன்,) “இறந்தோர் மண்ணறைகளிலிருந்து எழுப்பப்படும் நாள் வரையில் நீ எனக்கு அவகாசம் அளிப்பாயாக” என்று கேட்டான்.

(Iblîs) said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."

“நிச்சயமாக நீ (அவ்வாறே) அவகாசமளிக்கப்பட்டோரில் (ஒருவனாக) இருக்கின்றாய்” என்று (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் கூறினான்.

(Allâh) said: "You are of those respited."

“நீ என்னை வழிகெட்டவனாக ஆக்கியதன் காரணத்தால் (ஆதமுடைய சந்ததிகள்) உன்னுடைய நேரான வழியில் (செல்லாது தடை செய்ய வழி மறித்து அதில்) அவர்களுக்காக திட்டமாக உட்கார்ந்து கொள்வேன்” என்றும் (இப்லீஸாகிய) அவன் கூறினான்.)

(Iblîs) said: "Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path.

“பின்னர் நிச்சயமாக அவர்களுக்கு முன்னும், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னும், அவர்களின் வலப்புறங்களிலும், அவர்களின் இடப்புறங்களிலும் அவர்களிடம் நான் வந்து (அவர்களை வழி கெடுத்துக் கொண்டேயிருப்பேன், மேலும், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோரை (உனக்கு) நன்றி செலுத்துவோர்களாக நீ காணமாட்டாய்”

"Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You)."

இகழப்பட்டவனாகவும், விரட்டப்பட்டவனாகவும் நீ இதிலிருந்து வெளியேறி விடு, நிச்சயமாக (உன்னையும்) அவர்களில் உன்னைப் பின்பற்றியவர்களையும் சேர்த்து உங்கள் அனைவரிலிருந்தும் நிச்சயமாக நரகத்தை நான் நிரப்புவேன்” என்று அல்லாஹ்வாகிய அவன் கூறினான்.

(Allâh) said (to Iblîs): "Get out from this (Paradise), disgraced and expelled. Whoever of them (mankind) will follow you, then surely I will fill Hell with you all."

மேலும், “ஆதமே! நீரும் உம்முடைய மனைவியும் இச்சுவர்க்கத்தில் வசித்திருங்கள், பின்னர், நீங்கள் இருவரும் நீங்கள் நாடிய இடத்திலெல்லாம் சென்று நாடியவாறு புசியுங்கள் , இன்னும், இம்மரத்திற்கு அருகில் நீங்களிருவரும் நெருங்காதீர்கள், (அவ்வாறு சென்றால்) நீங்களிருவரும் அநியாயக்காரர்களில் ஆகிவிடுவீர்கள்” என்றும் அல்லாஹ் கூறினான்.

"And O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in Paradise, and eat thereof as you both wish, but approach not this tree otherwise you both will be of the Zâlimûn (unjust and wrong-doers)."

பின்னர் அவ்விருவருக்கும், மறைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த அவ்விருவருடைய வெட்கத்தலங்களை அவ்விவருக்கும் வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்காக ஷைத்தான் (அவர்களிடம் இரசியமாகப் பேசி தவறான எண்ணத்தை) ஊசாட்டத்தை அவ்விருவருக்கும் உண்டாக்கினான், மேலும், “(அதன் கனியைப் புசித்தால்) நீங்கள் இருவரும் மலக்குகளாகி விடுவீர்கள், அல்லது நிரந்தரமாக இருப்பவர்களில் நீங்கள் இருவரும் ஆகிவிடுவீர்கள், என்பதற்காகவே தவிர வேறெதற்காகவும் உங்கள் இரட்சகன் அம்மரத்தைவிட்டும் உங்களிருவரையும் தடுக்கவில்லை” என்று கூறினான்.

Then Shaitân (Satan) whispered suggestions to them both in order to uncover that which was hidden from them of their private parts (before); he said: "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree save that you should become angels or become of the immortals."

“நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களிருவருக்கும் உபதேசம் செய்பவர்களில் (ஒருவனாக) இருக்கின்றேன்” என்று அவ்விருவரிடம் (இப்லீஸாகிய அவன்) சத்தியமும் செய்தான்.

And he [Shaitân (Satan)] swore by Allâh to them both (saying): "Verily, I am one of the sincere well-wishers for you both."

(பின்னர்) அவ்விருவரை ஏமாற்றி (படிப்படியாக தங்கள் நிலையிலிருந்து கீழே இறங்கச் செய்தான், எனவே, அவ்விருவரும் அம்மரத்தை அதன் கனியை)ச் சுவைக்கவே அவ்விருவரின் வெட்கத்தலங்களும் அவ்விருவருக்கும் வெளியாகித் தெரியலாயிற்று, அச்சுவனத்தில் இலைகளைக் கொண்டு அவ்விருவரும் தங்களை மூடிக் கொள்ளவும் ஆரம்பித்தனர், மேலும், (அது சமயம்) அவ்விருவரின் இரட்சகன் அவ்விருவரையும் அழைத்து “இம்மரத்தை விட்டும் உங்களிருவரையும் நான் தடுக்கவில்லையா?” நிச்சயமாக ஷைத்தான் உங்களிருவருக்கும் பகிரங்கமான பகைவன் என்றும் நான் உங்களுக்குக் கூறவில்லையா? என்று அவ்விருவரையும் கேட்டான்.

So he misled them with deception. Then when they tasted of the tree, that which was hidden from them of their shame (private parts) became manifest to them and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise (in order to cover their shame). And their Lord called out to them (saying): "Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily, Shaitân (Satan) is an open enemy unto you?"

(அதற்கு) “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! எங்களுக்கு நாங்களே அநீதமிழைத்துக் கொண்டோம்) நீ எங்களை மன்னித்து எங்களுக்கு அருள் புரியாவிடில் நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் நஷ்டமடைந்தவர்களில் ஆகிவிடுவோம்” என்று அவ்விருவரும் (பிரார்த்தித்துக்) கூறினர்.

They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers."

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ்) “இதிலிருந்து நீங்கள் இறங்கி விடுங்கள், உங்களில் சிலர் (மற்ற) சிலருக்கு பகைவர்களாவீர்கள், பூமியில் உங்களுக்குத் தங்குமிடம் உண்டு, (அதில்) ஒரு காலம் வரை சுகம் அனுபவித்தலும் உண்டு” என்று கூறினான்.

(Allâh) said: "Get down, one of you is an enemy to the other [i.e. Adam, Hawwâ’ (Eve), and Shaitân (Satan)]. On earth will be a dwelling-place for you and an enjoyment for a time."

“அதிலேயே நீங்கள் வாழ்வீர்கள், அதிலேயே நீங்கள் இறப்பீர்கள், (பின்னர் ஒரு நாளில்) அதிலிருந்தே நீங்கள் (மீண்டும் உயிர் கொடுத்து) வெளியாக்கப் படுவீர்கள்” என்று கூறினான்.

He said: "Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (i.e. resurrected)."

ஆதமுடைய மக்களே! உங்களுடைய மானத்தை மறைக்கக் கூடிய ஆடையையும் அலங்காரத்தையும் திட்டமாக நாம் உங்களுக்கு இறக்கி வைத்திருக்கின்றோம், இன்னும் (பாவங்களை மறைத்துவிடக் கூடிய பரிசுத்தத் தன்மையான) பயபக்தி எனும் ஆடை-அதுதான் மிக்க மேலானது, அது அல்லாஹ்வுடைய அத்தாட்சிகளில் உள்ளதாகும், இதனைக் கொண்டு அவர்கள் நல்லுணர்ச்சி பெறலாம்.

O Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover yourselves (screen your private parts) and as an adornment; and the raiment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh, that they may remember (i.e. leave falsehood and follow truth¹).

1. It is said that the pagan Arabs in the Pre-Islâmic Period of Ignorance used to do Tawâf (going round) of the Ka‘bah in a naked state. So when Islâm became victorious and Makkah was conquered, the pagans and the polytheists were forbidden to enter Makkah, and none was allowed to do Tawâf of the Ka‘bah in a naked state.

ஆதமுடைய மக்களே! ஷைத்தான் உங்கள் பெற்றோர் இருவரையும், அவ்விருவரின் மானத்தை அவ்விவருக்கும் காண்பிப்பதற்காக வேண்டி அவ்விருவரின் ஆடையை அவ்விருவரை விட்டும் அவன் களைந்து அவர்கள் இன்பமுடன் வசித்து வந்த சுவனத்திலிருந்து வெளியேற்றி (சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கியது போன்று) உங்களையும் அவன் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக்கி விட வேண்டாம், நிச்சயமாக அவனும், அவனுடைய இனத்தாரும், நீங்கள் அவர்களைக் காண முடியாதவாறு மறைவாக இருந்து கொண்டு உங்களை (வழி கெடுக்க சமயம்) பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள், நிச்சயமாக, விசுவாசங்கொள்ளாதவர்களுக்கு அந்த ஷைத்தான்களை நாம் நண்பர்களாக்கியிருக்கின்றோம்.

O Children of Adam! Let not Shaitân (Satan) deceive you, as he got your parents [Adam and Hawwâ’ (Eve)] out of Paradise, stripping them of their raiments, to show them their private parts. Verily, he and Qabîluhu (his soldiers from the jinn or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. Verily, We made the Shayâtin (devils) Auliyâ’ (protectors and helpers) for those who believe not.

மேலும், (விசுவாசங்கொள்ளாத) அவர்கள், யாதொரு மானக்கேடான காரியத்தைச் செய்துவிட்டால் அவர்கள், எங்கள் மூதாதையர்களை இதன் மீதே நாங்கள் கண்டோம், அல்லாஹ்வும் இதைக்கொண்டே எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கின்றான்” என்று கூறுகின்றனர், (அதற்கு நபியே! அவர்களிடம்) “நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் மானக்கேடான காரியங்களைக் கொண்டு (அவற்றைச் செய்யுமாறு) அவன் கட்டளையிடமாட்டான். அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது நீங்கள் அறியாதவற்றைப் பொய்யாகக் கூறுகிறீர்கள்” என்று நீர் கூறுவீராக.

And when they commit a Fâhishah (evil deed, going round the Ka‘bah in naked state, and every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse), they say: "We found our fathers doing it, and Allâh has commanded it on us." Say: "Nay, Allâh never commands Fâhishah. Do you say of Allâh what you know not?"

“என் இரட்சகன் நீதத்தையே கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கின்றான், ஒவ்வொரு தொழும் இடத்திலும் (தொழுகையின் போது) நீங்கள் உங்கள் முகங்களை (அவனளவிலேயே) நிலைப் படுத்திக் கொள்ளுங்கள், நீங்கள் அவனுக்கே வணக்கத்தைக் கலப்பற்றதாக ஆக்கியவர்களாக அவனையே அழையுங்கள், அவன் (இல்லாமையிலிருந்து உங்களைப் படைக்க)த் துவக்கிய பிரகாரமே (நீங்கள் இறந்த பின்னரும், அவனால்) உயிர்ப்பிக்கப்பெற்று அவனிடமே நீங்கள் மீள்வீர்கள்” என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): My Lord has commanded justice and (said) that you should face Him only (i.e. worship none but Allâh and face the Qiblah, i.e. the Ka‘bah at Makkah during prayers) in every place of worship, in prayers (and not to face other false deities and idols), and invoke Him only making your religion sincere to Him (by not joining in worship any partner with Him and with the intention that you are doing your deeds for Allâh’s sake only). As He brought you (into being) in the beginning, so shall you be brought into being [on the Day of Resurrection in two groups, one as a blessed one (believers), and the other as a wretched one (disbelievers)].

(உங்களில்) ஒரு கூட்டத்தாரை அவன் நேரான வழியில் செலுத்தினான், மற்றொரு கூட்டத்தாருக்கோ வழிகேடு அவர்கள் மீது உறுதியாகி விட்டது, (காரணம்) நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி ஷைத்தான்களையே (தங்கள்) பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொண்டார்கள், மேலும், தாங்கள் நிச்சயமாக நேர் வழி பெற்றவர்கள் என எண்ணுகிறார்கள்.

A group He has guided, and a group deserved to be in error; (because) surely they took the Shayâtîn (devils) as Auliyâ’ (protectors and helpers) instead of Allâh, and think that they are guided.

ஆதமுடைய மக்களே! ஒவ்வொரு மஸ்ஜிதிலும் (ஆடைகளினால்) உங்களுடைய அலங்காரத்தை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள், மேலும், (அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்கு அனுமதித்தவற்றை) நீங்கள் (தாராளமாக) உண்ணுங்கள், மேலும், பருகுங்கள், (ஆனால்) வீண் விரயமும் செய்யாதீர்கள்; ஏனென்றால், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் வீண் விரயம் செய்வோரை நேசிக்கமாட்டான்.

O Children of Adam! Take your adornment (by wearing your clean clothes), while praying¹ and going round (the Tawâf of) the Ka‘bah, and eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allâh) likes not Al-Musrifûn (those who waste by extravagance).

   It is obligatory to wear the clothes while praying. And the Statement of Allâh عز وجل: "Take your adornment [(by wearing your clean clothes) covering completely the ‘Aurah (covering of one’s ‘Aurah means: while praying, a male must cover himself with clothes from the umbilicus of his abdomen up to his knees, and it is better that both his shoulders should be covered. And a female must cover all her body and feet except face, and it is better that both her hands are also covered)], while praying and going round (the Tawâf of) the Ka‘bah.

   In how many (what sort of) clothes a woman should pray? ‘Ikrimah said, "If she can cover all her body with one garment, it is sufficient."

   It is agreed by the majority of the religious scholars that a woman while praying should cover herself completely except her face, and it is better that she should cover her hands with gloves or cloth. but her feet must be covered either with a long dress or she must wear socks to cover her feet. This verdict is based on the Prophet’s statement (Abu Dâwûd).

   Narrated ‘Âishah رضي الله عنها: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم used to offer the Fajr prayer and some believing women covered with their veiling sheets used to attend the Fajr prayer with him, and then they would return to their homes unrecognized. (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.1, hadîth No.368).

(நபியே!) “அல்லாஹ் தன் அடியார்களுக்காக வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கும் (சகலவித) அலங்காரத்தையும், உணவு வகைகளில் நல்லவற்றையும் (ஆகாதவையென்று) தடுத்தவர் யார்? என்று கேட்பீராக! அது இவ்வுலக வாழ்வில் விசுவாசம் கொண்டவர்களுக்கு (உரியதாகும். எனினும்,) மறுமை நாளில் (மற்றவர்களுக்கன்றி அவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே) பிரத்தியேகமானதாகும், என்று கூறுவீராக! அறியக்கூடிய சமூகத்தார்க்கு (நம்முடைய) வசனங்களை இவ்வாறு விவரிக்கின்றோம்.

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Who has forbidden the adornment with clothes given by Allâh, which He has produced for His slaves, and At-Taiyyibât [all kinds of Halâl (lawful) things] of food?" Say: "They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) exclusively for them (believers) on the Day of Resurrection (the disbelievers will not share them)." Thus We explain the Ayât (Islâmic laws) in detail for people who have knowledge.

என்னுடைய இரட்சகன் (ஆகாதென்று) தடுத்திருப்பதெல்லாம் மானக்கேடான செயல்களை-அவற்றில் வெளிப்படையானதையும் மறைமுகமானதையும், (இதர) பாவத்தையும், உரிமையின்றி வரம்பு மீறுதலையும், அல்லாஹ்விற்கு நீங்கள் இணை வைப்பதையும் - அதற்கு எந்தவித ஆதாரத்தையும் அவன் இறக்கிவைக்காதிருக்க இன்னும் நீங்கள் அறியாதவற்றை அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது பொய்யாகக்) கூறுவதையும்-தான்” ,என்று (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "(But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawâhish (great evil sins and every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allâh for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allâh of which you have no knowledge."

ஓவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்தாருக்கும் ஒரு தவணையுண்டு, ஆகவே, அவர்களுடைய தவணை வந்துவிட்டால் ஒரு கணப்பொழுது பிந்தவுமாட்டார்கள், முந்தவுமாட்டார்கள்.

And every nation has its appointed term; when their term comes, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).

ஆதமுடைய மக்களே! உங்களிலிருந்தே நிச்சயமாக உங்களிடம் (என்னுடைய) தூதர்கள் வந்து என்னுடைய வசனங்களை உங்களுக்கு விவரித்துக் காண்பிக்கும்போது, எவர்கள் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப்) பயந்து, (தங்களைச்) சீர்திருத்திக்கொண்டார்களோ, அவர்களுக்கு எத்தகைகைய பயமுமில்லை, அவர்கள் கவலையும் அடையமாட்டார்கள்.

O Children of Adam! If there come to you Messengers from amongst you, reciting to you My Verses, then whosoever becomes pious and righteous, on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.

இன்னும், நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யாக்கி, அவற்றை (ஏற்பதை) விட்டும் கர்வமும் கொண்டார்களே, அத்தகையோர்-அவர்கள் நரகவாசிகளாவர், அவர்கள் அதில் நிரந்தரமாக(த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்.

But those who reject Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and treat them with arrogance, they are the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire, they will abide therein forever.

அல்லாஹ்வின், மீது பொய்யைக் கற்பனை செய்து கூறுகின்றவரைவிட, அல்லது அவனுடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்யாக்குகின்றவரைவிட மிக அநியாயக்காரர் யார்? அத்தகையோர்-அவர்களுக்கு எழுதப்பட்ட (உணவு, செல்வம் முதலிய)வைகளிலிருந்து அவர்களின் பாத்தியதை அவர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும், முடிவாக நம் தூதர்(களான மலக்கு)கள் அவர்களிடம் வந்து அவர்க(ளுடைய உயிர்க)ளை கைப்பற்றும் சமயத்தில் “அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி நீங்கள் அழைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களே அவர்கள் எங்கே” என்று கேட்பார்கள், அ(தற்க)வர்கள், (அவர்கள் யாவும்) “எங்களை விட்டு (ஓடி) மறைந்துவிட்டனர்” என்று கூறி, நிச்சயமாகவே தாங்கள் (சத்தியத்தை) நிராகரிப்பவர்களாக இருந்தனர் என தங்களுக்கு விரோதமாகவே அவர்கள் சாட்சியம் கூறுவார்கள்.

Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allâh or rejects His Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations)? For such their appointed portion (good things of this worldly life and their period of stay therein) will reach them from the Book (of Decrees) until when Our Messengers (the angel of death and his assistants) come to them to take their souls, they (the angels) will say: "Where are those whom you used to invoke and worship besides Allâh," they will reply, "They have vanished and deserted us." And they will bear witness against themselves, that they were disbelievers.

(அதற்கு அல்லாஹ் அவர்களிடம்) “ஜின்களிலும் மனிதர்களிலும் உங்களுக்கு முன்னர் சென்றுவிட்ட கூட்டத்தினர்களுடன் நீங்களும் சேர்ந்து நரக நெருப்பில் நுழையுங்கள்” என்று கூறுவான், அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்தினரும் (நரகத்திற்குள்) நுழையும் பொழுதெல்லாம் தனக்கு முன் அங்கு வந்துள்ள தங்கள் (இனத்தாரின் முன் சென்ற)சகக்கூட்டத்தினரை சபிப்பார்கள், முடிவாக அவர்கள் யாவரும் நரகத்தையடைந்த பொழுது (அவர்களில்) பிந்தியவர்கள் (பின்பற்றியவர்கள், பின்பற்றப்பட்ட தலைவர்களான) முந்தியவர்களைப் பற்றி “எங்கள் இரட்சகனே இவர்கள்தாம் எங்களை வழிகெடுத்தவர்கள், ஆகவே, அவர்களுக்கு (எங்களைவிட) நரகத்தில் இரட்டிப்பான வேதனையைக் கொடுப்பாயாக” என்று கூறுவார்கள், அதற்கு அவன் “உங்களில் ஒவ்வொருவருக்குமே இரட்டிப்பு (வேதனை) உண்டு, எனினும், (இதன் காரணத்தை) நீங்கள் அறியமாட்டீர்கள்” என்று கூறுவான்.

(Allâh) will say: "Enter you in the company of nations who passed away before you, of men and jinn, into the Fire." Every time a new nation enters, it curses its sister nation (that went before) until they will be gathered all together in the Fire. The last of them will say to the first of them: "Our Lord! These misled us, so give them a double torment of the Fire." He will say: "For each one there is double (torment), but you know not."

அவர்களில் முந்தியவர்கள் அவர்களில் பிந்தியவர்களிடம், “எங்களைவிட உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு மேன்மையும் கிடையாது, ஆதலால் நீங்கள் சம்பாதித்துக் கொண்ட (தீ)வினையின் காரணமாக (நீங்களும் இரட்டிப்பு) வேதனையைச் சுவையுங்கள்” என்று கூறுவார்கள்.

The first of them will say to the last of them: "You were not better than us, so taste the torment for what you used to earn."

நிச்சயமாக நம்முடைய வசனங்களைப் பொய்ப்பித்து, அவற்றை (ஏற்பதை) விட்டும் பெருமையும் கொண்டார்களே அத்தகையோர் – அவர்களுக்கு (அல்லாஹ்வின் அருளுக்குரிய) வானத்தின் (அருள்) வாயில்கள் திறக்கப்பட மாட்டாது, மேலும், ஊசியின் துவாரத்தில் ஒட்டகம் நுழையும் வரையில் அவர்கள் சுவனத்தில் நுழையமாட்டார்கள், மேலும், குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு இவ்வாறே நாம் கூலி கொடுப்போம்.

Verily, those who belie Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and treat them with arrogance, for them the gates of heaven will not be opened, and they will not enter Paradise until the camel goes through the eye of the needle (which is impossible). Thus do We recompense the Mujrimûn (criminals, polytheists and sinners).
