2. Al-Baqarah

ஆம்! எவர் தீமையைச் சம்பாதித்துக்கொண்டிருந்து, அவருடைய குற்றம் அவரைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டதோ அவர்கள் நரகவாசிகளே! அதில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக(த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்.

Yes! Whosoever earns evil and his sin has surrounded him, they are dwellers of the Fire (i.e. Hell); they will dwell therein forever.

இன்னும் விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்காரியங்களையும் செய்கிறார்களே அத்தகையோர் - அவர்கள் சுவனவாசிகள்; அதில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக (த்தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்.

And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh تعالى - Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they will dwell therein forever. (See V. 2:257)

மேலும், இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களிடம் “நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர (வேறு எதனையும்) வணங்காதீர்கள்; பெற்றோர்களுக்கும், உறவினர்களுக்கும், அநாதைகளுக்கும், ஏழைகளுக்கும் உபகாரம் செய்யுங்கள்; இன்னும் மனிதர்களுக்கு அழகானதைச் சொல்லுங்கள; தொழுகையையும் நிறைவேற்றுங்கள்; ஜகாத்தையும் கொடுங்கள்” என்று நாம் வாக்குறுதி வாங்கியதையும் (நினைத்துப்பாருங்கள்), பின்னர், உங்களில் சொற்பமானவர்களைத் தவிர நீங்கள் புறக்கணித்தவர்களாக முகம் திருப்பி(மாறி)விட்டீர்கள்.

And (remember) when We took a covenant from the Children of Israel, (saying): Worship none but Allâh (Alone) and be dutiful and good to parents, and to kindred, and to orphans and Al-Masâkîn ¹] (the poor), and speak good to people [i.e. enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, and say the truth about Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم], and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât. Then you slid back, except a few of you, while you are backsliders. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî).

   Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, " Al-Miskîn (the poor) is not the one who goes round the people and ask them for a mouthful or two (of meals) or a date or two, but Al-Miskîn (the poor) is that who has not enough (money) to satisfy his needs and whose condition is not known to other, that others may give him something in charity, and who does not beg of people.", (Sahih Al-Bukhâri Vol.2 Hadith No. 557. இன்னும், “நீங்கள் (உங்களுக்கு மத்தியில்) உங்களுடைய இரத்தங்களைச் சிந்தாதீர்கள்; உங்கள் இல்லங்களை விட்டு உங்(களைச் சேர்ந்தவர்)களை வெளியேற்றாதீர்கள்” என்றும் உங்களிடம் நாம் உறுதிமொழி வாங்கியதையும் (நினைவுகூருங்கள்), பின்னர் நீங்களோ சாட்சியம் கூறியவர்களாக இருக்க (அதை) நீங்கள் உறுதிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

And (remember) when We took your covenant (saying): Shed not the blood of your (people), nor turn out your own people from their dwellings. Then, (this) you ratified and (to this) you bear witness.

பின்னர் (இவ்வாறு உறுதிப்படுத்திய) நீங்கள்தான் அவர்கள்-உங்களை(ச் சேர்ந்தவர்களை) நீங்கள் கொலை செய்கிறீர்கள். இன்னும் உங்களில் ஒரு சாராரை அவர்களின் வீடுகளிலிருந்து வெளியேற்றுகிறீர்கள். பாவத்தைக் கொண்டும், பகைமையைக் கொண்டும் அவர்களுக்குப் பாதகமாக (எதிரிகளுக்கு) உதவி செய்கிறீர்கள். மேலும், (வெளியேற்றப்பட்டவர்கள்) சிறைப்பட்டவர்களாக உங்களிடம் வந்துவிட்டால் நஷ்டஈடு கொடுத்து (அவர்களை) விடுவிக்கின்றீர்கள். (அவ்வாறு) அவர்களை (அவர்களின் வீடுகளிலிருந்து) வெளியேற்றுவதே உங்களின்மீது தடை செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, ஆகவே, நீங்கள் வேதத்தில் சிலவற்றை விசுவாசித்து (மற்றும்) சிலவற்றை நிராகரிக்கின்றீர்களா? உங்களில் இதைச் செய்கிறவருக்கு இவ்வுலக வாழ்வில் இழிவைத் தவிர வேறு கூலி இல்லை. இன்னும், மறுமை நாளில் அவர்கள் மிகக் கடுமையான வேதனையின் பால் திருப்பப்படுவார்கள். அன்றியும் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றைப் பற்றி அல்லாஹ் பராமுகமானவனல்லன்.

After this, it is you who kill one another and drive out a party of you from their homes, assist (their enemies) against them, in sin and transgression. And if they come to you as captives, you ransom them, although their expulsion was forbidden to you. Then do you believe in a part of the Scripture and reject the rest? Then what is the recompense of those who do so among you, except disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they shall be consigned to the most grievous torment. And Allâh is not unaware of what you do.

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், மறுமை(யின் வாழ்க்கை)க்குப் பகரமாக, இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையை விலைக்கு வாங்கிக் கொண்டார்கள், ஆகவே, அவர்களை விட்டு வேதனை இலேசாக்கப்பட மாட்டாது, அவர்கள் (யாராலும்) உதவி செய்யப்படவுமாட்டார்கள்.

Those are they who have bought the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter. Their torment shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.

மேலும், நாம் மூஸாவிற்கு திட்டமாக வேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம்; அவருக்குப் பின் தூதர்களை தொடர்ச்சியாக நாம் அனுப்பியும் வைத்தோம்; மர்யமின் குமாரர் ஈஸாவுக்கு தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளை வழங்கி, ருஹுல் குதுஸ் (எனும் ஜிப்ரீலைக்) கொண்டு அவரை நாம் பலப்படுத்தியும் வைத்தோம். உங்கள் மனம் விரும்பாததை (நம்முடைய) எந்தத்தூதரும் உங்களிடம் கொண்டுவந்த போதெல்லாம் (அதை ஏற்காது, புறக்கணித்துப்) பெருமையடித்துக் கொள்கிறீர்களா? ஆகவே, (அத்தூதர்களில்) ஒரு சாராரை நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கினீர்கள்; ஒரு சாராரைக் கொலையும் செய்தீர்கள்.

And indeed, We gave Mûsâ (Moses) the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers. And We gave ‘Îsâ (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), clear signs and supported him with Rûh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel عليه السلام)]. Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some you disbelieved and some you killed.

இன்னும், “எங்கள் இதயங்கள் உறையிடப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன” என்று (யூதர்களான) அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர், அவ்வாறன்று, அவர்களுடைய நிராகரிப்பின் காரணமாக அவர்களை அல்லாஹ் சபித்துவிட்டான். ஆகவே, அவர்கள் விசுவாசம் கொள்வது வெகு சொற்பமே.

And they say, "Our hearts are wrapped (i.e. do not hear or understand Allâh’s Word)." Nay, Allâh has cursed them for their disbelief, so little is that which they believe.

மேலும், அவர்களிடமுள்ள (வேதத்தை உண்மைப்படுத்தக்கூடிய (குர் ஆன் எனும்) வேதம் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து அவர்களுக்கு வந்தபோது, இதற்குமுன் நிராகரிப்போருக்கு எதிராகத் தங்களுக்கு வெற்றியை (அல்லாஹ்விடம்) அவர்கள் தேடிக்கொண்டுமிருந்தனர், பின்னர் அவர்கள் நன்கறிந்திருந்த இவ்வேதமானது அவர்களிடம் வந்தபோது அதை அவர்கள் நிராகரித்து விட்டனர், ஆகவே, நிராகரிப்போர் மீது அல்லாஹ்வின் சாபம் இருக்கிறது.

And when there came to them (the Jews), a Book (this Qur’ân) from Allâh confirming what is with them [the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)], although aforetime they had invoked Allâh (for coming of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) in order to gain victory over those who disbelieved, then when there came to them that which they had recognised, they disbelieved in it. So let the Curse of Allâh be on the disbelievers.

(இந்தக் குர் ஆனை தங்கள் மீது இறக்காமல்) அல்லாஹ் தன்னுடைய அடியார்களில் தான் நாடியவர் மீது தன்னுடைய பேரருளிலிருந்து இறக்கி வைத்ததற்காகப் பொறாமை கொண்டு அல்லாஹ் இறக்கிய (இ)தையே நிராகரிப்பதன் மூலம் எதற்கு பகரமாக தங்களை விற்று விட்டார்களோ அது (மிகக்) கெட்டது, அதனால் அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் கோபத்திற்குமேல் கோபத்திற்குரியவர்களாகத் திரும்பினார்கள், நிராகரிப்போர்களுக்கு இழிவு தரும் வேதனையுமுண்டு.

How bad is that for which they have sold their ownselves, that they should disbelieve in that which Allâh has revealed (the Qur’ân), grudging that Allâh should reveal of His Grace unto whom He wills of His slaves. So they have drawn on themselves wrath upon wrath. And for the disbelievers, there is disgracing torment.

மேலும், “அல்லாஹ் இறக்கிவைத்த இவ்வேதத்தை நீங்கள் விசுவாசங் கொள்ளுங்கள்” என அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், “எங்கள் மீது இறக்கப்பட்ட (தவ்ராத்)தை விசுவாசிப்போம்” எனக் கூறுகிறார்கள். அதற்குப் பின்னால் உள்ள (குர் ஆன் வேதத்தை நிராகரித்தும் விடுகின்றார்கள். (ஆனால்) அவர்களிடம் இருப்பதை உண்மைப் படுத்தக்கூடியதாக இருக்கும் நிலையில் இதுவே சத்தியமானதாகும், (நபியே!! அவர்களிடம்.) “நீங்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டோராக இருந்தால் அல்லாஹ்வின் நபிமார்களை இதற்குமுன் நீங்கள் ஏன் கொலை செய்தீர்கள்?” என்று நீர் கேட்பீராக!

And when it is said to them (the Jews), "Believe in what Allâh has sent down," they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us." And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to them): "Why then have you killed the Prophets of Allâh aforetime, if you indeed have been believers?"

மேலும், மூஸா உங்களிடம் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சிகளை நிச்சயமாக கொண்டு வந்தார். அப்பால், அவருக்குப் பின்னர் நீங்கள் காளைக் கன்றை (தெய்வமாக) எடுத்துக்கொண்டீர்கள்; அந்நிலையில் நீங்களோ அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்.

And indeed Mûsâ (Moses) came to you with clear proofs, yet you worshipped the calf after he left, and you were Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers).

உங்களிடம் நாம் வாக்குறுதி வாங்கி, இன்னும் தூரை (சீனாய் மலையை) உங்களுக்குமேல் உயர்த்தியபொழுது, “உங்களுக்கு நாம் கொடுத்த (தவ்றாத்)தை பலமாகப்பிடியுங்கள்; இன்னும், (அதை செவிசாய்த்துக் கேளுங்கள்” (என்று கூறியதையும் நினைவு கூருங்கள்) அதற்கவர்கள் “நாங்கள் செவியேற்றோம்) இன்னும், உம் கட்டளைக்கு நாங்கள் மாறு செய்தோம்” என்று கூறினார்கள். மேலும், அவர்கள் நிராகரித்ததன் காரணமாக அவர்களுடைய இதயங்களில் ஒரு காளைக் கன்றின் அன்பினை புகட்டப்பட்டுவிட்டார்கள், நீங்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டோராக இருந்தால் எதைச்செய்யுமாறு உங்களுடைய விசுவாசம் தூண்டுகிறதோ அது மிகக் கெட்டது” என்று (நபியே!) கூறுவீராக!

And (remember) when We took your covenant and We raised above you the Mount (saying), "Hold firmly to what We have given you and hear (Our Word)." They said, "We have heard and disobeyed." And their hearts absorbed (the worship of) the calf because of their disbelief. Say: "Worst indeed is that which your faith enjoins on you if you are believers."

அல்லாஹ்விடமிருக்கும் “மறுமை வீடானது (மற்ற) மனிதர்களுக்கன்றி உங்களுக்கே சொந்தமாக (இருந்து அதில் நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக) இருப்பின் (அவ்வீட்டிற்குச் செல்வதற்காக) மரணத்தை நீங்கள் விரும்புங்கள்” என (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக!

Say to (them): "If the home of the Hereafter with Allâh is indeed for you specially and not for others, of mankind, then long for death if you are truthful."

(ஆனால்) அவர்கள் கரங்கள் முற்படுத்திவைத்தவற்றின் காரணத்தால் அதை அவர்கள் ஒருபோதும் விரும்பவே மாட்டார்கள்; மேலும் அநியாயக்காரர்களை அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிகின்றவன்.

But they will never long for it because of what their hands have sent before them (i.e. what they have done). And Allâh is All-Aware of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers).

மேலும், மற்றைய மனிதர்களையும் (குறிப்பாக) இணை வைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தோரையும்விட, (இவ்வுலக) வாழ்வின்மீது அதிக பேராசை கொண்டவர்களாக (நபியே)! அவர்களை நிச்சயமாக நீர் காண்பீர்; அவர்களில் ஒருவன், தான் ஆயிரம் வருடங்கள் வயதளிக்கப்பட வேண்டுமென விரும்புவான். (அவ்வாறு அதிகநாட்கள்) அவன் வயதளிக்கப்பட்டாலும் அது (நரக) வேதனையிலிருந்து ஒரு சிறிதும் அவனை தூரமாக்கி வைத்துவிடாது. இன்னும் அல்லாஹ் அவர்கள் செய்பவற்றை பார்க்கின்றவன்.

And verily, you will find them (the Jews) the greediest of mankind for life and (even greedier) than those who ascribe partners to Allâh (and do not believe in Resurrection - Majûs, pagans, and idolaters). Everyone of them wishes that he could be given a life of a thousand years. But the grant of such life will not save him even a little from (due) punishment. And Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.

எவர் ஜிப்ரீலுக்கு விரோதியாக உள்ளாரோ அவருக்கு நீர் கூறுவீராக: நிச்சயமாக அவர் தாம் அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைக்கிணங்கி உம் இதயத்தின் மீது (குர் ஆனாகிய) இதனை இறக்கிவைத்தார்; (இது) தனக்கு முன்னுள்ள வேதங்கள் அனைத்தையும் உண்மைப்படுத்தக்கூடியதாகவும், நேர்வழிகாட்டுகிறதாகவும், விசுவாசங்கொண்டோர்க்கு நன்மாராயமாகவும் இருக்கின்றது.

Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Whoever is an enemy to Jibrîl (Gabriel) (let him die in his fury), for indeed he has brought it (this Qur’ân) down to your heart by Allâh’s Permission, confirming what came before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and guidance and glad tidings for the believers.

உங்களில் எவர் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும், அவனுடைய மலக்குகளுக்கும், அவனுடைய தூதர்களுக்கும், ஜிப்ரீலுக்கும், மீக்காயிலுக்கும் பகைவராக இருக்கிறாரோ (அத்தகைய) நிராகரிப்போருக்கு நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் பகைவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

Whoever is an enemy to Allâh, His Angels, His Messengers, Jibrîl (Gabriel) and Mîkâ’îl (Michael), then verily, Allâh is an enemy to the disbelievers."

இன்னும், தெளிவான வசனங்களை நிச்சயமாக உம்மீது நாம் இறக்கியிருக்கிறோம்; மேலும், (தீய செயல்களுடைய) பாவிகளைத்தவிர (வேறெவரும்) அவைகளை நிராகரிக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

And indeed We have sent down to you manifest Ayât (these Verses of the Qur’ân which inform in detail about the news of the Jews and their secret intentions, etc.), and none disbelieve in them but Fâsiqûn (those who rebel against Allâh’s Command).

அவர்கள் உடன்படிக்கையைச் செய்த போதெல்லாம், அவர்களில் ஒருசாரார் அதனை (உடைத்து) எறிந்து விட்டனர் அல்லவா? மாறாக அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் விசுவாசிக்கமாட்டார்கள்.

Is it not (the case) that every time they make a covenant, some party among them throw it aside? Nay! (the truth is:) most of them believe not.

மேலும் - அவர்களுடன் இருப்ப(தான வேதத்)தை உண்மைப்படுத்தும் ஒரு தூதர் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து அவர்களிடம் வந்தபோது – வேதங்கொடுக்கப் பட்டவர்களில் ஒரு கூட்டத்தினர், ஏதும் அறியாதவர்களைப்போன்று அல்லாஹ்வின் வேதத்தை தங்கள் முதுகுகளுக்கப்பால் எறிந்துவிட்டனர்.

And when there came to them a Messenger from Allâh (i.e. Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) confirming what was with them, a party of those who were given the Scripture threw away the Book of Allâh behind their backs as if they did not know!

மேலும் அவர்கள் ஸுலைமானின் ஆட்சிக்காலத்தில் ஷைத்தான்கள் (பொய்யாக) ஓதியவற்றைப் பின்பற்றினார்கள்; இன்னும் ஸுலைமான், (சூனியம் செய்து அல்லாஹ்வை) நிராகரிக்கவில்லை. எனினும் ஷைத்தான்கள் நிராகரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்கள் சூனியத்தையும் பாபிலோன் நகரினில் ஹாருத், மாருத் என்னும் இரு மலக்குகளுக்கு இறக்கப்பட்டிருந்ததாகக் கூறி பலவற்றையும் மனிதர்களுக்குக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்து வந்தார்கள். மேலும், அவ்விருவரும் “நாங்கள் சோதனையாக இருக்கிறோம், ஆதலால் இதைக் கற்று நீ காஃபிராகி விட வேண்டாம்” என்று கூறும்வரை, அவர்கள் (அதனை) ஒருவருக்கும் கற்றுக் கொடுப்பதில்லை, ஆகவே, கணவனுக்கும், மனைவிக்குமிடையில் எதைக்கொண்டு பிரிப்பார்களோ, அதை அவ்விருவரிடமிருந்து கற்றுக் கொள்வார்கள்; மேலும் அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளையின்றி அதைக்கொண்டு அவர்கள் ஒருவருக்குமே தீங்கிழைக்கக் கூடியவர்களாக இல்லை. அன்றியும், அவர்களுக்கு இடரளிப்பதும், அவர்களுக்கு பயனளிக்காததுமானதை அவர்கள் கற்றுக் கொள்கிறார்கள். இன்னும், அ(ச்சூனியத்)தை எவர் விலைக்கு வாங்கிக் கொண்டாரோ அவருக்கு மறுமையில் எந்த பாக்கியமுமில்லை என்பதைத் திட்டமாக அவர்கள் அறிந்திருக்கின்றனர். மேலும், அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ளக்கூடியவர்களானால் எதற்குப்பகரமாக தங்களையே அவர்கள் விற்று விட்டார்களோ அது மிகக் கெட்டது.

They followed what the Shayâtîn (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaimân (Solomon). Sulaimân did not disbelieve, but the Shayâtîn (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Hârût and Mârût, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allâh’s Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew.

இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டு (அல்லாஹ்வினால் தடுக்கப்பட்டவற்றைத் தவிர்த்து) அஞ்சிக்கொண்டார்களானால் (அவர்களுக்குத்) திட்டமாக அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து கிடைக்கும் நற்கூலி மிகச்சிறந்ததாக இருக்கும், (இதுபற்றி) அவர்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வார்களானால் (மிக்க நன்று)!

And if they had believed, and guarded themselves from evil and kept their duty to Allâh, far better would have been the reward from their Lord, if they but knew!

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! நீங்கள் (நபியிடம்), யூதர்கள் மொழியில் தவறான பொருள்களைக் கொண்டதான ‘ராஇனா’ எனக்கூறப்படுவதைக் கூறாதீர்கள். (எங்களை கவனிப்பீராக) என்ற பொருள் கொண்ட ‘உள்ளுர்னா’ என்று கூறுங்கள், இன்னும், (அவர் கூற்றுக்கு) நீங்கள் செவிசாயுங்கள். மேலும், நிராகரிப்போருக்கு மிகத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையுண்டு.

O you who believe! Say not (to the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم) Râ‘ina ¹ but say Unzurna (make us understand) and hear. And for the disbelievers there is a painful torment. (See Verse 4:46)

1. Râ‘ina In Arabic means "Be careful; Listen to us, and we listen to you", whereas in Hebrew it means "an insult", and the Jews used to say it to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم with bad intentions. (See V.4:46)

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! வேதத்தையுடையோரில் நிராகரிப்போரும் இணை வைத்துக்கொண்டிருப்போரும் எந்த நன்மையும் உங்கள் இரட்சகனிடமிருந்து உங்கள் மீது இறக்கி வைக்கப்படுவதை விரும்புவதில்லை, அல்லாஹ்வோ, தான் நாடியவருக்குத் தன் கிருபையை சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்கிறான், மேலும், அவர்கள் மகத்தான பேரருளுடையவன்.

Neither those who disbelieve among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) nor Al-Mushrikûn (the idolaters, polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, pagans, etc.) like that there should be sent down unto you any good from your Lord. But Allâh chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allâh is the Owner of Great Bounty.

ஏதேனும் ஒரு வசனத்தை நாம் மாற்றினால், அல்லது அதை மறக்கச் செய்துவிட்டால்; அதைவிடச் சிறந்ததை அல்லது அது போன்றவற்றை நாம் கொண்டுவருவோம்; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் மீதும் மிக்க ஆற்றலுடையோன் என்பதை நீர் அறியவில்லையா?

Whatever a Verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allâh is able to do all things?

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்- அவனுக்கே வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமியின் ஆட்சி உரியது என்பதை நீர் அறியவில்லையா? (விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே) அல்லாஹ்வைத் தவிர உங்களுக்கு எந்தப் பாதுகாவலரும் எவ்வித உதவியாளரும் இல்லை.

Know you not that it is Allâh to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth? And besides Allâh you have neither any Walî (protector or guardian) nor any helper.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! இதற்கு முன்னர் மூஸா(விடம்) கேள்விகள் கேட்கப்பட்டமாதிரி நீங்களும் உங்கள் தூதரிடம் (வீணான கேள்விகளைக்) கேட்க நாடுகிறீர்களா? எவர் (இவ்வாறு கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டுத்) தன்னுடைய ஈமானை நிராகரிப்பை (குப்ரை)க் கொண்டு மாற்றிக் கொள்கிறாரோ அவர் நேரான வழியை திட்டமாகத் தவறவிட்டு விட்டார்.

Or do you want to ask your Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as Mûsâ (Moses) was asked before (i.e. show us openly our Lord)? And he who changes Faith for disbelief, verily, he has gone astray from the Right Way.

வேதத்தையுடையோரில் அநேகர், உண்மை அவர்களுக்கு இன்னதெனத் தெளிவாகத் தெரிந்த பின்னும் அவர்களுக்கு உங்கள் மீதுள்ள பொறாமையின் காரணமாக நீங்கள் ஈமான் கொண்ட பிறகும் உங்களை நிராகரிப்போராக திருப்பிவிட வேண்டுமென்று ஆசை வைக்கிறார்கள், ஆகவே, அல்லாஹ் தனது கட்டளையைக் கொண்டுவரும் வரை (அவர்களை) நீங்கள் மன்னித்து விடுங்கள்; பொருட்படுத்தாது விட்டுவிடுங்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் ஒவ்வொரு பொருளின் மீதும் ஆற்றலுடையவன்.

Many of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even after the truth (that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is Allâh’s Messenger) has become manifest unto them. But forgive and overlook, till Allâh brings His Command.¹ Verily, Allâh is Able to do all things.

நீங்கள் தொழுகையையும் நிறைவேற்றுங்கள்; ‘ஜகாத்’ தையும் கொடுங்கள், உங்களுக்காக நீங்கள் எந்த நன்மையை முற்படுத்தி வைக்கின்றீர்களோ அதனை அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் பெற்றுக் கொள்வீர்கள். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றைப் பார்க்கிறவன்.

And perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât and whatever of good (deeds that Allâh loves) you send forth for yourselves before you, you shall find it with Allâh. Certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what you do.

(நபியே) யூதராகவோ அல்லது கிறிஸ்தவராகவோ ஆகியவரைத் தவிர (வேறெவரும்) சுவர்க்கம் பிரவேசிக்கவே மாட்டார்கள் என அவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள், இது அவர்களுடைய வீண் எண்ணமேயாகும்; (ஆகவே, உங்கள் கூற்றில்) “நீங்கள் உண்மையாளர்களாக இருந்தால் உங்களுடைய ஆதாரத்தை கொண்டு வாருங்கள்” என (நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக.

And they say, "None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian." These are their own desires. Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), "Produce your proof if you are truthful."

ஆம்! எவர் தன் முகத்தை அவர் நன்மை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிற நிலையில் அல்லாஹ்வுக்காக ஒப்படைக்கிறாரோ – அவருடைய நற்கூலி அவருடைய இரட்சகனிடம் அவருக்குண்டு, (இத்தகையோர்) அவர்கள் மீது எத்தகைய பயமுமில்லை, அவர்கள் கவலையும் அடைய மாட்டார்கள்.

Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allâh (i.e. follows Allâh’s Religion of Islâmic Monotheism) and he is a Muhsin ¹ then his reward is with his Lord (Allâh), on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. [See Tafsir Ibn Kathîr ].

1. "Muhsin" a good-doer who performs good deeds totally for Allâh’s sake only without any show off or to gain praise or fame, etc., and in accordance with the Sunnah of Allâh’s Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.

இன்னும் “கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் எந்த மார்க்கத்திலுமில்லை” என்று யூதர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். “யூதர்கள் எந்த மார்க்கத்திலுமில்லை” என்று கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் கூறுகின்றனர். அவர்களோ வேதத்தை ஓதுகின்றவர்களாக இருக்க (இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்றார்கள்) இவ்வாறே அவர்கள் கூற்றைப் போன்றதை அறிந்து கொள்ளாதோர் கூறுகின்றனர். ஆகவே, எதில் அவர்கள் கருத்து வேறுபாடு கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களோ அதில் மறுமைநாளில் அல்லாஹ் அவர்களிடையே தீர்ப்பளிப்பான்.

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allâh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing.

அன்றியும் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய ‘மஸ்ஜிதுகளில் அவனுடைய (சங்கையான) பெயர் அவற்றில் கூறப்படுவதைத் தடுத்து அவைகளைப் பாழாக்க முயற்சிப்பவனைவிட மகா அநியாயக்காரன் யார்? இத்தகையோர் அச்சமுடையவர்களேயன்றி அவைகளில் நுழைய அவர்களுக்குத் தகுதியில்லை, (அவைகளில் அல்லாஹ்வின் பெயர் கூறப்படுவதைத் தடுத்து அவற்றைப் பார்க்க முற்படும்) அவர்களுக்கு இம்மையில் இழிவுண்டு; மறுமையிலோ அவர்களுக்கு மகத்தான வேதனையுமுண்டு.

And who are more unjust than those who forbid that Allâh’s Name be glorified and mentioned much (i.e. prayers and invocations, etc.) in Allâh’s Mosques and strive for their ruin? It was not fitting that such should themselves enter them (Allâh’s Mosques) except in fear. For them there is disgrace in this world, and they will have a great torment in the Hereafter.

மேலும், கிழக்கும் மற்றும் மேற்கும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியன. எனவே நீங்கள் (தொழுகைக்காக) எங்கு திரும்பினும், அங்கே அல்லாஹ்வின் (சங்கையான) முகம் இருக்கிறது; நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் விசாலமானவன்; மிக்க அறிந்தவன்.

And to Allâh belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allâh (and He is High above, over His Throne). Surely! Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knowing.

இன்னும் “அல்லாஹ் (தனக்குப்) புதல்வனை எடுத்துக் கொண்டான்” (அவனுக்கு மகன் இருக்கிறான்) என்று அவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர்; அவனோ மிகப் பரிசுத்தமானவன்; (அவர்கள் கூறுகிறவாறு அல்ல’ வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமியில் உள்ளவை (அனைத்தும்) அவனுக்கே உரியவை; (இவை) ஒவ்வொன்றும் அவனுக்கே கீழ்படிபவைகள்.

And they (Jews, Christians and pagans) say: Allâh has begotten a son (children or offspring)¹. Glory be to Him (Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth, and all surrender with obedience (in worship) to Him.

   "They (Jews, Christians and pagans) say: Allâh has begotten a son (children, offspring). Glory be to Him ... Nay...." Narrated Ibn ‘Abbâs رضي الله عنهما: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Allâh said, ‘The son of Adam tells lies against Me though he has no right to do so, and he abuses Me though he has no right to do so. As for telling lies against Me, he claims that I cannot re-create him as I created him before; and as for his abusing Me: it is his statement that I have a son (or offspring) No! Glorified be Me! I am far from taking a wife or a son (or offspring).’ " (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol. 6, Hadîth No. 9).

வானங்கள் மற்றும் பூமியை முன்மாதிரியின்றி அவன் படைக்கிறவன், இன்னும், அவன் ஒரு காரியத்தை முடிவு செய்தால் ‘அவன் அதற்குக் கூறுவதெல்லாம் ‘ஆகுக’ என்பதுதான்; அது ஆகிவிடும்.

The Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it: "Be!" - and it is.

மேலும் “(நபியே!) உம்முடைய நபித்துவத்தைப்பற்றி அல்லாஹ் எங்களுடன் பேச வேண்டாமா? அல்லது எங்களிடமும் ஓர் அத்தாட்சி வர வேண்டாமா? என அறியாதவர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். இவ்வாறே இவர்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்தவர்களும் இவர்களின் கூற்றைப்போன்றே கூறினார்கள். இவர்களுடைய இதயங்கள் (அவர்களின் இதயங்களுக்கு) ஒப்பாகி விட்டன. உறுதி கொள்ளும் சமூகத்தார்க்கு நம்முடைய அத்தாட்சிகளை திட்டமாக நாம் தெளிவாக்கியிருக்கிறோம்.

And those who have no knowledge say: "Why does not Allâh speak to us (face to face) or why does not a sign come to us?" So said the people before them words of similar import. Their hearts are alike, We have indeed made plain the signs for people who believe with certainty.

(நபியே!) உம்மை உண்மையான மார்க்கத்தைக் கொண்டு (நல்லவர்களுக்கு) நன்மாராயங்கூறக்கூடியவராக மற்றும் (தீயவர்களுக்கு) அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்யக்கூடியவராக நிச்சயமாக நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம், மேலும், நரகவாசிகள் பற்றி நீர் கேட்கப்படமாட்டீர்.

Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) with the truth (Islâm), a bringer of glad tidings (for those who believe in what you brought, that they will enter Paradise) and a warner (for those who disbelieve in what you brought, that they will enter the Hell-fire).¹ And you will not be asked about the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

(நபியே) யூதர்களும், கிறிஸ்தவர்களும், நீர் அவர்களுடைய மார்க்கத்தைப் பின்பற்றும்வரை உம்மைப் பற்றி அவர்கள் திருப்தியடையவே மாட்டார்கள்; (ஆகவே, அவர்களிடம் அல்லாஹ்வின் நேர்வழியாகிய இஸ்லாம்)தான் நிச்சயமாக நேர்வழி (அதனையே பின்பற்றுவேன்) எனக் கூறிவிடுவீராக! அன்றியும் உமக்கு உண்மையான அறிவு வந்ததன் பின்னும் அவர்களுடைய மன இச்சைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவீரானால், அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து உம்மைக் காப்பாற்றுகிற எந்தப் பாதுகாவலனும் எவ்வித உதவி செய்பவனும் உமக்கில்லை.

Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) till you follow their religion. Say: "Verily, the Guidance of Allâh (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Qur’ân), then you would have against Allâh neither any Walî (protector or guardian) nor any helper.
