அந்நாளில் (பாவிகளுக்காக) நரகமும் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டுவிட்டால், அந்நாளில் மனிதன் (உலகில் அவன் அல்லாஹ்விற்கு மாற்றமாக நடந்ததை) நினைவு கூர்வான்; இன்னும், (அச்சமயம்) அவனுக்கு நினைவு கூர்வது எவ்வாறு (பயனுள்ளதாக) ஆகும்?

And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him?

“என்னுடைய (இந்த) வாழ்க்கைக்காக (நன்மையைச் செய்து) நான் முற்படுத்தி (அனுப்பி) இருக்க வேண்டுமே என்று அப்போது மனிதன் கூறுவான்.

He will say: "Alas! Would that I had sent forth (good deeds) for (this) my life!"

எனவே, அந்நாளில் (அல்லாஹ்வாகிய) அவன் செய்யும் வேதனையைப் போல், மற்றெவனும் வேதனை செய்யமாட்டான்.

So on that Day none will punish as He will punish.

இன்னும், அவன் கட்டுவதுபோல் வேறு எவனும் கட்டமாட்டான்.

And none will bind (the wicked, disbelievers and polytheists) as He will bind.

(அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைகளை உண்மைப்படுத்துவது கொண்டு) அமைதிபெற்ற ஆத்மாவே!

(It will be said to the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction!

நீ உன் இரட்சகன் பக்கம் (அவனைத்) திருப்தியடைந்த நிலையிலும், (அவனிடம்) பொருந்திக் கொள்ளப்பட்ட நிலையிலும் மீள்வாயாக!

"Come back to your Lord well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing (unto Him)!

நீ எனது அடியார்(களான நல்லோர்களின் கூட்டங்)களில் பிரவேசிப்பாயாக!

"Enter you then among My (honoured) slaves,

மேலும், என்னுடைய சுவனத்தில் நீ நுழைந்துவிடுவாயாக! (என்றும் அல்லாஹ் கூறுவான்.)

"And enter you My Paradise!"

(நபியே!) இந்த (மக்கா) நகரத்தின்மீது நான் சத்தியம் செய்கிறேன்.

I swear by this city (Makkah);

இந்நகரத்தில் (போர்செய்வது சற்று நேரம் உமக்கு ஆகுமாக்கப்பட்டதாக இருக்க) நீர் தங்கியிருக்கும் நிலையில்,

And you are free (from sin, and to punish the enemies of Islâm on the Day of the conquest) in this city (Makkah).¹

1. a) Narrated Ibn ‘Abbâs رضي الله عنهما: On the day of the conquest of Makkah, Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Allâh has made this town a sanctuary. Its thorny bushes should not be cut, its game should not be chased, and its fallen things should not be picked up except by one who would announce them publicly." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.2, Hadith No. 657)

   b) See the footnote of (V.2:191).

தந்தையின்மீதும் பிறந்தோ(ராகிய சந்ததியின)ரின் மீதும் சத்தியமாக,

And by the begetter (i.e. Adam عليه السلام) and that which he begot (i.e. his progeny).

திட்டமாக நாம் மனிதனைக் கஷ்டத்தில் (உள்ளவனாகப்) படைத்திருக்கின்றோம்.

Verily, We have created man in toil.

“நிச்சயமாக ஒருவரும் (தன்னை தண்டிக்க) தன்மீது சக்தி பெறவே மாட்டார்” என அவன் எண்ணிக் கொள்கிறானா?

Does he think that none can overcome him?

“ஏராளமான பொருளை நான் (முஹம்மதின் விரோதத்திற்காக) அழித்திருக்கிறேன்” என்று (ஹாரிஸாகிய) அவன் (ஆணவமாகக்) கூறுகின்றான்.

He says (boastfully): "I have wasted wealth in abundance!"

நிச்சயமாக ஒருவருமே தன்னை பார்க்கவில்லையென்று அவன் எண்ணிக் கொள்கின்றானா?

Does he think that none sees him?

இரு கண்களை அவனுக்கு நாம் அமைக்கவில்லையா?

Have We not made for him two eyes,

ஒரு நாவையும் இரு உதடுகளையும் (நாம் அவனுக்கு அமைக்கவில்லையா?)

And a tongue and two lips?

மேலும், (நன்மை, தீமையாகிய) இரு வழிகளை நாம் அவனுக்குக் காண்பித்துவிட்டோம்.

And shown him the two ways (good and evil)?

எனினும், (இதுவரையில்) அவன் “அகபா”வைக் கடக்கவில்லை.

But he has not attempted to pass on the path that is steep (i.e. the path which will lead to goodness and success).

(நபியே!) “அகபா” என்னவென்று உமக்கு அறிவித்தது எது?

And what will make you know the path that is steep?

(அது தான்) ஓர் அடிமையை விடுதலை செய்தலாகும்.

(It is) freeing a neck (slave)¹

1. Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Whoever frees a Muslim slave, Allâh will save all the parts of his body from the (Hell) Fire, as he has freed the body-parts of the slave." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.3, Hadith No.693).

அல்லது பசியுடைய நாளில் உணவளித்தலாகும்.

Or giving food in a day of hunger (famine),

(யாருக்கெனில்) நெருங்கிய உறவுடைய ஒரு அநாதைக்கு.

To an orphan near of kin.

அல்லது (வறுமையால்) மண்ணில் உழலும் ஏழைக்கு (உணவளிப்பதாகும்.)

Or to a Miskîn (poor) cleaving to dust (out of misery).

பின்னர் விசுவாசங்கொண்டு பொறுமையைக் கொண்டு ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உபதேசம் செய்தும், (அல்லாஹ்வின் அடியார்களுக்கு) அன்பு செலுத்துமாறு ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உபதேசம் செய்துகொண்டும் இருந்தோரில் உள்ளவராக அவர் இருப்பதாகும்.

Then he became one of those who believed (in the Islamic Monotheism) and recommended one another to perseverance and patience, and (also) recommended one another to pity and compassion.

இத்தகையோர் தாம் வலப்புறத்தை உடையோர்.

They are those on the Right Hand (i.e. the dwellers of Paradise),
