ஆனால் (மறுமை நாளாகிய) இன்றையத்தினம் விசுவாசங்கொண்டவர்கள் அந்நிராகரிப்போரைக் கண்டு சிரிப்பார்கள்.

But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers¹

   Narrated Anas bin Mâlik رضي الله عنه: A man said, "O Allâh’s Prophet! Will Allâh gather a disbeliever (prone) on his face on the Day of Resurrection?" He صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Will not the One Who made him walk on his feet in this world, be able to make him walk on his face on the Day of Resurrection?" (Qatâdah, a subnarrator, said: "Yes, By the Power of Our Lord!") (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadith No.283).

(சுவனபதியிலுள்ள உயர்தரமான) சாய்வு இருக்கைகள் மீது இருந்து (கொண்டு, தீயவர்கள் படும் வேதனையைப்) பார்ப்பார்கள்.

On (high) thrones, looking (at all things).

(மறுமையை) நிராகரித்தோர், அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைக்கு(த் தக்க) கூலி கொடுக்கப்பட்டார்களா? (என்றும் பார்ப்பார்கள்,)

Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do?

வானம் பிளந்து விடும்போது-

When the heaven is split asunder,

அது (பிளந்து விடவேண்டுமெனும்) தன் இரட்சகனின் கட்டளைக்குச் செவிசாய்த்தும் விட்டது; (அவ்வாறு செவி சாய்ப்பது) அதற்குக் கடமையாகவும் ஆக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது.

And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.

பூமியும் (நீண்டதாக) விரிக்கப்பட்டுவிடும்போது-

And when the earth is stretched forth,

அது தன்னுள்ளிருப்பதை வெளிப்படுத்தி அது வெறுமையாகியும் விடும்போது-

And has cast out all that was in it and became empty.

அது (தன்னுள்ளிருப்பதை வெளிப்படுத்திவிட வேண்டுமெனும்) தன் இரட்சகனின் கட்டளைக்குச் செவிசாய்த்தும்விட்டது; (அவ்வாறு செய்வது) அதற்க்குக் கடமையாகவும் ஆக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டபோது..

And listens to and obeys its Lord - and it must do so.

மனிதனே! நீ உன் இரட்சகனிடம் செல்லும் வரையில் (நன்மையோ, தீமையோ பல வேலைகளில் ஈடுபட்டு) கஷ்டத்துடன் முயற்சி செய்து கொண்டே இருக்கின்றாய்; பின்னர் (மறுமையில்) அவனை நீ சந்திக்கிறவனாக இருக்கிறாய்.

O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, and you will meet (the results of your deeds which you did).

எனவே (அந்நாளில்) எவர் அவருடைய பதிவுப்புத்தகத்தை அவருடைய வலக்கையில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டாரோ-

Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand,

அவர் மிக்க இலகுவான கேள்வி கணக்காக கணக்குக் கேட்கப்படுவார்.

He surely will receive an easy reckoning,

இன்னும், அவர் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் (சுவனத்திலுள்ள) தன்னுடைய குடும்பத்தாரிடம் திரும்புவார்.

And will return to his family in joy!

மேலும், எவர்-அவருடைய பதிவுப்புத்தகத்தை அவருடைய முதுகுக்குப் பின்னால் கொடுக்கப்பட்டாரோ-

But whosoever is given his Record behind his back,

அவர் (தனக்குக் கேடுதான் என்று கூறி அழிவையே) அழைப்பார்.

He will invoke (for his) destruction,

நரகத்திலும் அவர் நுழைவார்.

And he shall enter a blazing Fire, and be made to taste its burning.

(ஏனென்றால்,) நிச்சயமாக அவர் (இம்மையில்) தன் குடும்பத்தாருடன் மிக்க ஆனந்தமாக இருந்தார்.

Verily, he was among his people in joy!

நிச்சயமாக அவர் (தன் இரட்சகனின்பால்) மீளவே மாட்டார் என்று எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்.

Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)!

ஆம்! (அவர் மீளத்தான் போகிறார்.) நிச்சயமாக அவருடைய இரட்சகன் அவரைப் பார்க்கக்கூடியவனாக இருந்தான்.

Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him!

அந்தி நேரத்துச் செவ்வானத்தின் மீது நான் சத்தியம் செய்கிறேன்.

So I swear by the afterglow of sunset;

இரவின் மீதும், அது அணைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவற்றின் மீதும் (சத்தியம் செய்கிறேன்).

And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness,

சந்திரன் மீதும் அது பூரணமாகிவிட்டபோது(ம் சத்தியம் செய்கிறேன்.)

And by the moon when it is at the full.

(ஒரு நிலைமையிலிருந்து மற்றொரு நிலைமைக்கு நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் படிப்படியாக ஏறிச்செல்வீர்கள்.

You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter).

ஆகவே, (இதனை மறுத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கும்) அவர்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? அவர்கள் நம்புவதில்லை.

What is the matter with them, that they believe not?

மேலும், அவர்களுக்கு இந்தக்குர் ஆன் ஓதிக் காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால் (அல்லாஹ்விற்கு) அவர்கள் சிரம்பணி(ந்து ஸுஜூது செய்)வதில்லை.

And when the Qur’ân is recited to them, they fall not prostrate.

அன்றியும் நிராகரிப்போர் (இந்தக்குர் ஆனையே) பொய்யாக்குகின்றனர்.

Nay, those who disbelieve belie (Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and whatever he brought, i.e. this Qur’ân and Islâmic Monotheism, etc.).¹

   It is obligatory to have Belief in the Messengership of the Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه : Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "By Him (Allâh) in Whose Hand Muhammad’s soul is, there is none from amongst the Jews and Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire." (Sahih Muslim, the Book of Faith, Vol. 1, Chapter No.240). See also (V.3:85) and (V.3:116).

இன்னும், அவர்கள் (தங்கள் மனங்களில் சேகரித்து) மறைத்து வைத்திருப்பவைகளை அல்லாஹ் நன்கறிந்தேயிருக்கின்றான்.

And Allâh knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds),

ஆகவே, (நபியே!) துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையைக் கொண்டு அவர்களுக்கு நீர் நன்மாராயங் கூறுவீராக!

So announce to them a painful torment.
