83. Al-Mutaffifin

(அளவையிலும், எடையிலும் மோசம் செய்து) குறைக்கக் கூடியவர்களுக்குக் கேடு உண்டாவதாக!

Woe to Al-Mutaffifûn (those who give less in measure and weight).

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், (தங்களுக்காக) மனிதர்களிடமிருந்து அளந்து வாங்கினால், நிறைவாக (அளந்து) வாங்கிக் கொள்கின்றனர்.

Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure,

(ஆனால்) தாங்கள் அவர்களுக்கு (-மற்ற மனிதர்களுக்கு) அளந்து கொடுத்தாலும், அல்லது அவர்களுக்கு நிறுத்துக் கொடுத்தாலும் (குறைத்து மோசடி செய்து அவர்களை) நஷ்டப்படுத்தி விடுகின்றனர்.

And when they have to give by measure or weight to (other) men, give less than due.

அத்தகையோர் - நிச்சயமாக, தாம் (மறுமையில் உயிர் கொடுத்து எழுப்பப்படுபவர்கள் என்பதை அவர்கள் எண்ணிப் பார்க்கவில்லையா?

Do they not think that they will be resurrected (for reckoning),

மகத்தான ஒரு நாளைக்காக-

On a Great Day?

(அந்நாளோ) அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகன் முன்னிலையில் மனிதர்கள் நிற்கும் நாள்.

The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists)?

(தீயோர்கள் எண்ணுவது போல்) அல்ல! நிச்சயமாக (தீயோர்களான) பாவிகளின் (பதிவுப்) புத்தகம் ஸிஜ்ஜீனில் இருக்கிறது.

Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjâr (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, evil-doers and the wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjîn.

(நபியே!) ஸிஜ்ஜீன் என்றால் என்னவென்று உமக்கு அறிவித்தது எது?

And what will make you know what Sijjîn is?

(பாவிகளின் செயல்கள்) எழுதப்பட்ட புத்தகமாகும்.

A Register inscribed.

பொய்யாக்குபவருக்கு அந்நாளில் கேடுதான்!

Woe, that Day, to those who deny.

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால், கூலி கொடுக்கப்படும் நாளைப் பொய்யாக்குகின்றனர்.

Those who deny the Day of Recompense.

வரம்பு மீறிய பாவியான ஒவ்வொருவனையும் தவிர (மற்றெவனும்) அதனைப் பொய்யாக்கமாட்டான்.

And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience to Allâh) the sinner!

அவனுக்கு நம்முடைய வசனங்கள் ஓதிக்காண்பிக்கப்பட்டால், (இது) முன்னோர்களின் கட்டுக்கதைகள் என அவன் கூறுகின்றான்.

When Our Verses (of the Qur’ân) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!"

அவ்வாறன்று! பின்னர் அவர்கள் சம்பாதித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தவை அவர்களின் இதயங்களின் மீது துருவாகப்படிந்து விட்டன. (ஆதலால்தான், இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்றனர்).

Nay! But on their hearts is the Rân (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.¹

   Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "When a slave (a person) commits a sin (an evil deed) a black dot is dotted on his heart. Then if that person gives up that evil deed (sin), begs Allâh to forgive him, and repents, then his heart is cleared (from that heart covering dot); but if he repeats the evil deed (sin), then that covering is increased till his heart is completely covered with it. And that is Ar-Rân which Allâh mentioned (in the Qur’ân), "Nay! but on their hearts is the Rân (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn." (At-Tirmidhi, Vol.5, Hadith No.3334).

(காஃபிர்கள் தங்களுக்கு இரட்சகனிடம் நெருக்கமிருப்பதாகக் கூறிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்களே அது) அவ்வாறல்ல! (விசாரணைக்காகக் கொண்டு வரப்படும்) அந்நாளில் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய இரட்சகனை (ப் பார்ப்பதை) விட்டும் மறைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாவர்.

Nay! Surely they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day.

பின்னர், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் நரகத்தில் நுழையக்கூடியவர்கள் (ஆவர்.)

Then, verily, they will indeed enter (and taste) the burning flame of Hell.

பின்னர், (அவர்களிடம்)” எதை நீங்கள் பொய்யாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தீர்களோ, அது இதுதான்” என்று கூறப்படும்.

Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!"

(நல்லோர், தீயோர் ஆகியோரின் முடிவு ஒன்றுபோல்) அல்ல! நிச்சயமாக நன்மை செய்தோரின் பதிவேடு ‘இல்லிய்யூன்’ என்ற இடத்தில் இருக்கும்.

Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrâr (the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism) is (preserved) in ‘Illiyyûn

(நபியே!) ‘இல்லிய்யூன்’ என்றால் என்ன என்பதை உமக்கு அறிவித்தது எது?

And what will make you know what ‘Illiyyûn is?

(அது நல்லோர்களின் செயல்கள்) பதியப்பட்ட புத்தகம்.

A Register inscribed,

(அல்லாஹ்விடம்) நெருக்கமான(வான)வர்கள் அதனைப் பார்ப்பார்கள்.

To which bear witness those nearest (to Allâh, i.e. the angels).

நிச்சயமாக நல்லோர்கள் நயீமில் (சுவனபதிகளின் மகிழ்ச்சியான வாழ்க்கையில்) இருப்பா்.

Verily, Al-Abrâr (the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism) will be in Delight (Paradise).

(உயர்ந்த) சாய்வு இருக்கைகளின் மீது (இருந்தவாறு சுவனத்தின் காட்சிகளைப்) பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்.

On thrones, looking (at all things).

அவர்கள் முகங்களில் சுகபோகத்தின் செழிப்பை (நபியே) நீர் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்.

You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight.

முத்திரையிடப்பட்ட கலப்பற்ற மதுவிலிருந்து அவர்கள் புகட்டப்படுவார்கள்.

They will be given to drink of pure sealed wine.

அதன் முத்திரை கஸ்தூரியினால் ஆனதாகும், (ஆகவே) இன்னும் (நல்லறங்கள் செய்து) அதற்கு முந்திக் கொள்பவர்கள் முந்திக் கொள்ளட்டும்.

The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of Musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah).

இன்னும், அதன் கலவை (உயரத்திலிருந்து ஊற்றப்படும் சிறந்த நீரான) தஸ்னீம் (எனும் சுனை நீர்) ஆகும்.

It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnîm:

(தஸ்னீம் எனும்) நீர் ஊற்றை (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு) நெருக்கமானவர்கள் அதனைப் பருகுவார்கள்.

A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allâh.

நிச்சயமாக குற்றமிழைத்தவர்கள், (உலகில்) விசுவாசங்கொண்டவர்களைக் கண்டு (ஏளனமாகச்) சிரிப்பவர்களாக இருந்தனர்.

Verily, (during the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.

ஆவர்கள் பக்கமாகச் சென்றால், (பரிகாசமாகத் தங்களுக்குள்) ஒருவருக்கொருவர் கண்சாடை காட்டிக் கொள்ளவும் செய்வார்கள்.

And, whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery).

மேலும், தங்கள் குடும்பத்தார்பால் திரும்பிச் செல்வார்களாயின் (தாங்கள் செய்ததைப்பற்றி மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தவர்களாகத் திரும்புகின்றனர்.

And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting;

(விசுவாசிகளாகிய) அவர்களை இவர்கள் பார்த்தால், “நிச்சயமாக இவர்கள் வழி தவறியவர்கள்” என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.

And when they saw them, they said: "Verily these have indeed gone astray!"

மேலும், (விசுவாசிகளான) அவர்கள் மீது (காஃபிர்களான) இவர்கள் பாதுகாப்பாளர்களாக அனுப்பப்படவில்லை.

But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers).

ஆனால் (மறுமை நாளாகிய) இன்றையத்தினம் விசுவாசங்கொண்டவர்கள் அந்நிராகரிப்போரைக் கண்டு சிரிப்பார்கள்.

But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers¹

   Narrated Anas bin Mâlik رضي الله عنه: A man said, "O Allâh’s Prophet! Will Allâh gather a disbeliever (prone) on his face on the Day of Resurrection?" He صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Will not the One Who made him walk on his feet in this world, be able to make him walk on his face on the Day of Resurrection?" (Qatâdah, a subnarrator, said: "Yes, By the Power of Our Lord!") (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadith No.283).

(சுவனபதியிலுள்ள உயர்தரமான) சாய்வு இருக்கைகள் மீது இருந்து (கொண்டு, தீயவர்கள் படும் வேதனையைப்) பார்ப்பார்கள்.

On (high) thrones, looking (at all things).

(மறுமையை) நிராகரித்தோர், அவர்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவைக்கு(த் தக்க) கூலி கொடுக்கப்பட்டார்களா? (என்றும் பார்ப்பார்கள்,)

Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do?
