4. An-Nisa

(நபியே!) ஒவ்வொரு சமுதாயத்திலிருந்தும் ஒரு சாட்சியை நாம் கொண்டுவரும்போது இவர்களுக்கு (விரோதமான) சாட்சியாக உம்மை நாம் கொண்டும் வந்தால் (நிராகரித்த இவர்களுடைய நிலைமை) எவ்வாறிருக்கும்?

How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as a witness against these people?

நிராகரித்து (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய) தூதருக்கும் மாறு செய்தோர், (அவ்வாறு நாம் கொண்டுவரும்) நாளில் பூமி அவர்கள் மீது (தங்களை விழுங்கி தன்னுள்) சமமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டுமே, என்று விரும்புவார்கள், மேலும், இவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்விடத்தில் எவ்விஷயத்தையும் மறைத்து விட முடியாது.

On that day those who disbelieved and disobeyed the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) will wish that they were buried in the earth, but they will never be able to hide a single fact from Allâh.¹

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! நீங்கள் போதையுடையோராகயிருக்கும் நிலையில், நீங்கள் கூறுவது இன்னதென்று நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்ளும் வரை, தொழுகைக்கு நெருங்காதீர்கள், அன்றியும், நீங்கள் (முழுக்காளி) குளிப்பு கடமையானவராயிருந்தால், குளிக்கும் வரையிலும் (தொழுகைக்கு நெருங்காதீர்கள், ஆனால்) பள்ளியைக் கடந்து செல்பவர்களாகவே தவிர, இன்னும் நீங்கள் நோயாளிகளாகவோ, அல்லது பிரயாணத்திலோ, அல்லது மலஜலம் கழித்தோ. அல்லது பெண்ணைத்தீண்டி (தாம்பத்திய உறவு கொண்டு) இருந்தோ, (சுத்தம் செய்து கொள்ள) நீங்கள் தண்ணீரைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்ளாவிடில், பரிசுத்தமான மண்ணை நாடுங்கள், (அதைத் தொட்டு) உங்களுடைய முகங்களையும், கைகளையும் (தயம்மும் செய்து) தடவிக் கொள்ளுங்கள், (பிறகு தொழுங்கள்.) நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (பிழைகளை) மிகப் பொறுப்பவனாக (குற்றங்களை) மிக்க மன்னிப்பவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

O you who believe! Approach not As-Salât (the prayer) when you are in a drunken state until you know (the meaning) of what you utter, nor when you are in a state of Janâba ,(i.e. in a state of sexual impurity and have not yet taken a bath) except when travelling on the road (without enough water, or just passing through a mosque), till you wash your whole body. And if you are ill, or on a journey, or one of you comes after answering the call of nature, or you have been in contact with women (by sexual relations) and you find no water, perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands (Tayammum)¹. Truly, Allâh is Ever Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.

1. Strike your hands on the earth and then pass the palm of each on the back of the other and then blow off the dust from them and then pass (rub) them on your face, this is called Tayammum

(நபியே!) வேதத்திலொரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களை நீர் கவனிக்கவில்லையா? அவர்கள் (தாம்) வழிகேட்டை விலைக்கு வாங்கிக் கொள்கின்றனர், நீங்களும் வழி கெட்டுவிட வேண்டுமென்றே அவர்கள் நாடுகின்றனர்.

Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the book (the Jews), purchasing the wrong path, and wish that you should go astray from the Right Path.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ், உங்களுடைய (இவ்)விரோதிகளை மிக்க அறிகிறவன், (உங்களுக்குப்) பாதுகாவலனாக இருக்கவும் அல்லாஹ் போதுமானவன், (உங்களுக்கு) உதவியாளனாக இருக்கவும் அல்லாஹ் போதுமானவன்.

Allâh has full knowledge of your enemies, and Allâh is Sufficient as a Walî (Protector), and Allâh is Sufficient as a Helper.

யூதர்களில் சிலர், (வேத) வசனங்களை அதற்குரிய இடங்களிலிருந்து (அவற்றின் கருத்து வேறுபடும்படியான விதத்தில்) புரட்டுகின்றனர், (நபியே! உம்மை நோக்கி, நீர் சொன்னதை) நாம் செவியுற்றோம், இன்னும் நாம் (அதற்கு) மாறு செய்வோம், “(என்று கூறி உம்) மார்க்கத்தில் குற்றம் சொல்ல (“நபியே! இதுவரை) நீர் கேட்க முடியாததை நீர் கேளும்) என்றும் ‘ராயினா’ என்று தங்கள் நாவுகளைக் கோணிக்கொண்டும் சன்மார்க்கத்தைப் பழித்தும் கூறுகின்றனர், ‘(நபியே நீர் சொன்னதற்கு)’ நாம் செவி சாய்த்தோம், இன்னும் (உமக்கு) நாம் கீழ்ப்படிந்தோம், (நாம் சொல்வதை) நீர் கேளும்” என்று கூறி ராயினா என்னும் பதத்திற்குப் பதிலாக) ‘உள்ளுர்னா’ (எங்களை அன்பாக நோக்குவீராக!) என்றும் கூறியிருந்தால் அது அவர்களுக்கே மிக நன்மையாகவும், மிக நேர்மையானதாகவும் இருந்திருக்கும், எனினும் அவர்களுடைய நிராகரிப்பின் காரணமாக அல்லாஹ் அவர்களைச் சபித்துவிட்டான், ஆதலால், (அவர்கள்) குறைவாகவேயன்றி விசுவாசங்கொள்ளமாட்டார்கள்.

Among those who are Jews, there are some who displace words from (their) right places and say: "We hear your word (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and disobey," and "Hear and let you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) hear nothing." And Râ‘ina ¹ with a twist of their tongues and as a mockery of the religion (Islâm). And if only they had said: "We hear and obey", and "Do make us understand," it would have been better for them, and more proper; but Allâh has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not except a few.

1. Râ‘inâ means in Arabic "Be careful, listen to us, and we listen to you", whereas in Hebrew, it means an insult.

வேதம் கொடுக்கப்பட்டோரே! உங்கள் முகங்களை மாற்றி, பின்னர் அவைகளை அவைகளின் பின்புறமாக நாம் திருப்பிவிடுவதற்கு முன்பே உங்களிடமுள்ள (வேதத்)தை உண்மைப்படுத்துகின்ற நாம் இறக்கிவைத்த இ(வ்வேதத்தை) விசுவாசங்கொள்ளுங்கள், அல்லது (சனிக்கிழமையில் வரம்பு மீறியோரான) அஸ்ஹாபுஸ்ஸப்தினரை நாம் சபித்த பிரகாரம் அவர்களையும் நாம் சபித்துவிடுவோம், மேலும் அல்லாஹ்வுடைய கட்டளை நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டதாக ஆகிவிடும்.

O you who have been given the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Believe in what We have revealed (to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) confirming what is (already) with you, before We efface faces (by making them like the back of necks; without nose, mouth) and turn them hindwards, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath-breakers¹. And the Commandment of Allâh is always executed.²

நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், தனக்கு இணைவைக்கப்படுவதை மன்னிக்கவே மாட்டான், இதனைத் தவிர (மற்ற) எதனையும், தான் நாடியோருக்கு மன்னிப்பான், எவர் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கு இணை வைக்கின்றாரோ அவர் திட்டமாக மகத்தான பாவத்தை பொய்யாகக் கற்பனை செய்துவிட்டார்.

Verily, Allâh forgives not that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allâh in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.¹

   Narrated Anas :رضي الله عنه The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Allâh will say to that person of the (Hell) Fire who will receive the least punishment, ‘If you had everything on the earth, would you give it as a ransom to free yourself (i.e. save yourself from this Fire)?’ He will say, `Yes’. Then Allâh will say, `While you were in the backbone of Adam, I asked you much less than this, (i.e. not to worship others besides Me), but you insisted on worshipping others besides me.’" (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol. 4, Hadîth No 551).

(நபியே!) தமக்குத் தாமே பரிசுத்தத்தைக் கற்பிப்போரை நீர் காணவில்லையா? (அவர்கள் கூறுவது சரி) அல்ல, அல்லாஹ், தான் நாடிய (நல்ல)வர்களைப் பரிசுத்தமாக்கி வைக்கிறான், (இவ்விஷயத்தில்) ஓர் அணுவளவும் அவர்கள் அநீதி செய்யப்படமாட்டார்கள்.

Have you not seen those (Jews and Christians)¹ who claim sanctity for themselves. Nay, but Allâh sanctifies whom He wills, and they will not be dealt with injustice even equal to the extent of a scalish thread in the long slit of a date-stone.

(நபியே!) அல்லாஹ்வின் மீது அவர்கள் (அபாண்டமான) பொய்யை எவ்வாறு கற்பனை செய்கின்றனர் என்பதை நீர் கவனிப்பீராக! பகிரங்கமான பாவத்திற்கு இதுவே போதுமானதாக இருக்கின்றது.

Look, how they invent a lie against Allâh, and enough is that as a manifest sin.

((நபியே!) வேதத்தில் ஒரு பாகம் கொடுக்கப் பட்டவர்களை நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா?, அவர்கள் விக்கிரகங்களையும் தாகூத்தை(-ஷைத்தானையும் விசுவாசிக்கின்றனர், மேலும், (இணை வைப்போராகிய குறைஷியர்களைச் சுட்டிக்காண்பித்து) “இவர்கள்தாம் உண்மை விசுவாசிகளைவிட மிகவும் நேரான பாதையில் இருக்கின்றனர்” என்று காஃபிர்களுககுக் கூறுகின்றனர்.

Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They believe in Jibt and Tâghût ¹ and say to the disbelievers that they are better guided as regards the way than the believers (Muslims).

1. The words "Jibt and Tâghût" cover wide meanings: They mean anything worshipped other than the Real God (Allâh) i.e. all the false deities, it may be an idol, satan, graves, stone, sun, star, angel, saints or any human being. [Please see Tafsir Ibn Kathir and the footnote of (V.2:256)].

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால்-அவர்களை அல்லாஹ் சபித்துவிட்டான், எவரை அல்லாஹ் சபித்துவிட்டானோ அவருக்கு உதவி செய்பவரை நீர் காணவே மாட்டீர்.

They are those whom Allâh has cursed, and he whom Allâh curses, you will not find for him (any) helper,

(இவ்வுலக) ஆட்சியில் ஏதேனும்) ஒரு பங்கு (பாத்தியதை) அவர்களுக்கு சொற்ப பாகமாவது இருக்கின்றதா? (இல்லை) அவ்வாறிருந்தால், அவர்கள் (அதிலிருந்து மற்ற) மனிதர்களுக்கு இம்மியேனும் கொடுக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

Or have they a share in the dominion? Then in that case they would not give mankind even a speck on the back of a date-stone.

அல்லது (நல்லடியார்களான) மனிதர்களை(ப் பற்றி) அவர்களுக்கு அல்லாஹ் தன் பேரருளால் கொடுத்தவற்றின்மீது (யூதர்களாகிய) அவர்கள் பொறாமைப்படுகிறார்களா? அவ்வாறாயின், இப்றாஹீமுடைய குடும்பத்தினருக்கு வேதத்தையும் ஞானத்தையும் கொடுத்திருந்தோம். (அத்துடன்) மகத்தான அரசாங்கத்தையும் அவர்களுக்கு நாம் கொடுத்திருந்தோம்.

Or do they envy men (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his followers) for what Allâh has given them of His Bounty? Then We had already given the family of Ibrâhîm (Abraham) the Book and Al-Hikmah (As-Sunnah - Divine Revelation to those Prophets not written in the form of a book), and conferred upon them a great kingdom.

(அவ்வாறிருந்தும்) அவர்களிலிருந்து அதை விசுவாசித்தவரும் உண்டு, இன்னும் அவர்களிலிருந்து அதை விட்டும் விலகிக் கொண்டவரும் உண்டு, (நிராகரித்த அவர்களுக்குக்) கொழுந்து விட்டெரியும் நரகமே போதுமாகிவிட்டது.

Of them were (some) who believed in him (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and of them were (some) who averted their faces from him (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم); and enough is Hell for burning (them)¹.

நிச்சயமாக நம்முடைய (இவ்வேத) வசனங்களை நிராகரிக்கின்றார்களே, அத்தகையோர்-அவர்களை, (விரைவில்) நாம் நரகத்தில் புகுத்தி விடுவோம், (அதில்) அவர்கள், வேதனையைச் (சதா) அனுபவிப்பதற்காக அவர்களுடைய தோல்கள் கருகி விடும்போதெல்லாம், அவையல்லாத (வேறு புதிய) தோல்களை நாம் மாற்றிக் கொண்டே இருப்போம், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் யாவரையும் மிகைத்தவனாக, தீர்க்கமான அறிவுடையவனாக இருக்கிறான்.

Surely! Those who disbelieved in Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall burn them in Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for other skins that they may taste the punishment. Truly, Allâh is Ever Most Powerful, All-Wise.

இன்னும் (அவர்களில்) விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, நற்செயல்களையும் செய்கின்றார்களே அத்தகையோர்-அவர்களைக் சுவனபதிகளில் நாம் பிரவேசிக்கச் செய்வோம், அவற்றின் கீழ் ஆறுகள் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும், அவற்றிலேயே அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக(த்தங்கி) இருப்பார்கள்.

But those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do deeds of righteousness, We shall admit them to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), abiding therein forever. Therein they shall have Azwâjun Mutahharatun ¹ (purified mates or wives), and We shall admit them to shades wide and ever deepening (Paradise)².

2. Narrated Anas bin Mâlik رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمsaid, "There is a tree in Paradise (which is so big and huge that) if a rider travels in its shade for one hundred years, he will not be able to cross it." (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.4, Hadîth No.474).

(விசுவாசிகளே! உங்களிடம் நம்பி ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்ட) அமானிதங்களை அவற்றின் சொந்தக்காரர்களிடம் நீங்கள் ஒப்படைத்து விடுமாறும், மனிதர்ளுக்கிடையில் நீங்கள் தீர்ப்புக் கூறினால் (பாரபட்சமின்றி) நீதமாகவே தீர்ப்பளிக்குமாறும் நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறான், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் எதனை உங்களுக்கு உபதேசிக்கிறானோ அது மிக்க நல்லதாகும். நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் செவியேற்கிறவனாக பார்க்கிறவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

Verily! Allâh commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (Allâh) gives you! Truly, Allâh is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்குக் கீழப்படியுங்கள், (அவனது) தூதருக்கும் கீழப்படியுங்கள், இன்னும் உங்களில் (அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும் அவனது தூதருக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடக்கும்) அதிகாரம் உடைய (தலைவர்களுக்கும்) கீழப்படியுங்கள், ஆனால் யாதொரு விஷயத்தில் நீங்கள் பிணங்கிக்கொண்டால், அதனை அல்லாஹ்விடமும் அவனது தூதரிடமும் திருப்பி ஒப்படைத்து விடுங்கள், (அவர்களுடைய தீர்ப்பை நீங்கள் திருப்தியாகவே ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளுங்கள்) மெய்யாகவே நீங்கள், அல்லாஹ்வையும் இறுதி நாளையும் விசுவாசங்கொண்டவர்களாக இருந்தால், இதுதான் நன்மையாகவும் மிக அழகான முடிவாகவும் இருக்கும்.

O you who believe! Obey Allâh and obey the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allâh and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), if you believe in Allâh and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination.

(நபியே!) உம்மீது இறக்கிவைக்கப்பட்ட (இவ்வேதத்தையும், உமக்கு முன்னர் இறக்கிவைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள (வேதங்கள் யா)வற்றையும் மெய்யாகவே தாங்கள் விசுவாசிப்பதாக எண்ணிக் கொண்டிருப்போர்பால் நீர் பார்ககவில்லையா? அவர்கள் தாகூத்தை (ஷைத்தானை) தீர்ப்புக் கூறுபவனாக ஆக்க நாடுகிறார்கள், (ஆனால்) அவர்களோ, அவனை நிராகரித்து விடவேண்டுமெனத் திட்டமாகக் கட்டளையிடப்பட்டுள்ளார்கள், அந்த ஷைத்தானோ, அவர்களை வெகு தூரமான வழிகேட்டில் வழிகெடுத்துவிடவே நாடுகின்றான்.

Have you not seen those (hypocrites) who claim that they believe in that which has been sent down to you, and that which was sent down before you, and they wish to go for judgement (in their disputes) to the Tâghût ¹ (false judges) while they have been ordered to reject them. But Shaitân (Satan) wishes to lead them far astray².

2. This verse was revealed in connection with a hypocrite claiming to be a Muslim, who had a dispute with a Jew and he wanted to take his case to a soothsayer rather than to the Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه (وسلم for judgement - For details, see Tafsir At- Tabari.

மேலும், (நியாயம் பெற) “அல்லாஹ் இறக்கியருளிய (வேதத்)தின் பாலும் - அவனது தூதரின்பாலும் நீங்கள் வாருங்கள்” (அந்த ஷைத்தானிடம் செல்லாதீர்கள்! என்று அவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டால், அந்த முனாஃபிக்குகளை (வேஷதாரிகளை)-அவர்கள் உம்மைவிட்டு முற்றிலும் புறக்கணித்து விடுவதையே நீர் காண்பீர்.

And when it is said to them: "Come to what Allâh has sent down and to the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)," you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) see the hypocrites turn away from you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) with aversion.

(நபியே!) அவர்களின் கரங்கள் முற்படுத்திய (பாவத்)தின் காரணமாக அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு துன்பம் ஏற்பட்டால், (அதற்குப் பரிகாரம் தேடிக் கொள்ள முடியாமலாகிவிட்ட அவர்களின் இழிநிலைமை) எவ்வாறு இருக்கும்?(என்பதை நீர் பார்ப்பீராக) பின்னர், அவர்கள் - நன்மையையும் - ஒற்றுமையையும் தவிர (வேறெதையும்) நாங்கள் நாடவில்லை என்று அல்லாஹ்வைக் கொண்டு சத்தியம் செய்பவர்களாக உம்மிடம் வருகின்றனர்.

How then, when a catastrophe befalls them because of what their hands have sent forth, they come to you swearing by Allâh, "We meant no more than goodwill and conciliation!"

அவர்கள் எத்தகையோரென்றால்-அவர்களின் இதயங்களில் இருப்பவைகளை அல்லாஹ் அறிவான், ஆகவே (நபியே! நீர் அவர்களைப் புறக்கணித்து விடுவீராக! மேலும், அவர்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்வீராக! மேலும், அவர்களின் உள்ள கெடுதல்களை அவர்களுக்கு அவர்களது மனங்களில் படும்படித் தெளிவாக எடுத்துக்கூறுவீராக!

They (hypocrites) are those of whom Allâh knows what is in their hearts; so turn aside from them (do not punish them) but admonish them, and speak to them an effective word (i.e. to believe in Allâh, worship Him, obey Him, and be afraid of Him) to reach their innerselves.

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைக்கொப்ப கீழ்ப்படியப் படுவதற்காகவே தவிர, (மனிதர்களிடம்) நாம் தூதர்களில் எவரையும் அனுப்பி வைக்கவில்லை, இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தமக்குத் தாமே அநீதமிழைத்துக் கொண்டு, உம்மிடம் வந்து, பின்னர், அல்லாஹ்விடம் அவர்கள் பாவமன்னிப்புக் கோரி, அவர்களுக்காக (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய) தூத(ராகிய நீ)ரும் பாவமன்னிப்புக் கோரியிருந்தால், தவ்பாவை ஏற்(று மன்னிப்)பவனாக, மிகக் கிருபையுடையோனாக அல்லாஹ்வை அவர்கள் கண்டிருப்பபார்கள்.

We sent no Messenger, but to be obeyed by Allâh’s Leave. If they (hypocrites), when they had been unjust to themselves, had come to you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) and begged Allâh’s Forgiveness, and the Messenger had begged forgiveness for them: indeed, they would have found Allâh All-Forgiving (One Who forgives and accepts repentance), Most Merciful.

ஆனால், உமதிரட்சகன்மீது சத்தியமாக, அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள் ஏற்பட்ட சச்சரவில் உம்மை நீதிபதியாக ஆக்கி நீர் செய்யும் தீர்ப்பைத் தங்கள் மனங்களில் எத்தகைய அதிருப்தியையும் பெறாமல் முற்றிலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாத வரையில் அவர்கள் விசுவாசிகளாக மாட்டார்கள்.

But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.

இன்னும், “உங்களையே நீங்கள் கொலை செய்து கொள்ளுங்கள், அல்லது நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய வீடுகளிலிருந்து வெளியேறிவிடுங்கள்” என்று நிச்சயமாக நாம் அவர்களின்மீது விதித்திருந்தால், அவர்களில் சிலரைத் தவிர (பெரும்பாலானவர்கள்) இதனைச் செய்திருக்கவே மாட்டார்கள். மேலும், அவர்கள் எதை உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டார்களோ, அதை அவர்கள் செய்திருப்பார்களேயானால், அது அவர்களுக்கு மிக்க நன்மையாகவும், (விசுவாசத்தில் அவர்களை) உறுதிபடுத்துவதில் மிக்க வலுவாகவும் இருந்திருக்கும்.

And if We had ordered them (saying), "Kill yourselves (i.e. the innocent ones kill the guilty ones) or leave your homes," very few of them would have done it; but if they had done what they were told, it would have been better for them, and would have strengthened their (Faith);

மேலும், அது சமயம் அவர்களுக்கு, நம்மிடமிருந்து (மேற்கொண்டும்) மகத்தான ஒரு கூலியை நாம் கொடுத்திருப்போம்.

And indeed We should then have bestowed upon them a great reward from Ourselves.

மேலும், அவர்களுக்கு நேரான வழியை நாம் காட்டி இருப்போம்.

And indeed We should have guided them to the Straight Way.

மேலும், எவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கும் அவனுடைய தூதருக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடக்கின்றார்களோ அவர்கள்-நபிமார்கள், சத்தியவான்கள், (அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் உயிர் நீத்த) ஷஹீதுகள், நல்லடியார்கள் ஆகியோர்களிலிருந்து எவர்கள் மீது அல்லாஹ் அருள் செய்திருக்கிறானோ அத்தகையோருடன் (சுவனத்தில்) இருப்பார்கள், தோழமைக்கு இவர்கள் அழகானவர்கள்.

And whoso obey Allâh and the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allâh has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqûn (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As-Siddîq (رضي الله عنه), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are!

இப்பேரருள் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்துள்ளதாகும், இன்னும், (இவர்கள் செயலை) நன்கறிகிறவனாக இருக்க அல்லாஹ் போதுமானவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

Such is the Bounty from Allâh, and Allâh is Sufficient as All-Knower.

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! நீங்கள் (யுத்தத்திற்குச் சென்றால்) உங்கள் எச்சரிக்கையை (முதல் ஆயுதமாக) எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள், பிறகு, அணி அணியாகவோ செல்லுங்கள், அல்லது அனைவரும் (கூட்டாக) இணைந்தோ செல்லுங்கள்.

O you who believe! Take your precautions, and either go forth (on an expedition) in parties, or go forth all together.

மேலும், (யுத்தத்திற்கு வராது) பின் தங்கியவர்களும் நிச்சயமாக உங்களில் (சிலர்) இருக்கின்றனர், (அவர்கள் முனாஃபிக்குகளே! ஏனெனில் யுத்தத்திற்குச் சென்ற) உங்களுக்கு யாதொரு கஷ்டமேற்பட்டாலோ, அ(வர்களில் ஒரு)வன் நான் அவர்களுடன் (அங்கு) பிரசன்னமாகி இல்லாதிருந்தபோது நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் என்மீது அருள் புரிந்துவிட்டான்” என்று கூறுகின்றான்.

There is certainly among you he who would linger behind (from fighting in Allâh’s Cause). If a misfortune befalls you, he says, "Indeed Allâh has favoured me in that I was not present among them."

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து உங்களுக்கு ஒரு பாக்கியம் கிடைத்தால் “நானும் அவர்களுடன் இருந்திருக்க வேண்டுமே, அவ்வாறிருந்தால் பெரும் பாக்கியத்தை நானும் அடைந்திருப்பேனே! என்று உங்களுக்கும் அவனுக்கும் இடையில் எத்தகைய நட்பும் இல்லாமலிருந்ததைப் போல் நிச்சயமாக அவன் கூறுகிறான்.

But if a bounty (victory and booty) comes to you from Allâh, he would surely say - as if there had never been ties of affection between you and him - "Oh! I wish I had been with them; then I would have achieved a great success (a good share of booty)."

மறுமை (வாழ்க்கை)க்காக இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையை விற்றுவிடுபவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் யுத்தம் செய்யவும், இன்னும் எவர் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் யுத்தம் புரிந்து (அதில்) அவர் கொல்லப்பட்டாலும் அல்லது வெற்றி பெற்றாலும் நாம் அவருக்கு மகத்தான கூலியைக் கொடுப்போம்.

Let those (believers) who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter fight in the Cause of Allâh, and whoso fights in the Cause of Allâh, and is killed or gets victory, We shall bestow on him a great reward.

இன்னும், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய பாதையில் ஆண்கள், பெண்கள், குழந்தைகள் ஆகியோரில் பலவீனமானவர்களின் (பாதுகாப்பு) விஷயத்திலும், நீங்கள் யுத்தம் செய்யாதிருக்க உங்களுக்கு என்ன நேர்ந்தது? அவர்களோ, எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! இவ்வூரிலிருந்து எங்களை வெளியேற்றிவிடுவாயாக! அதை (அவ்வூரை)யுடையவர்கள், அநியாயக்காரர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர். நீ எங்களுக்கு உன் புறத்திலிருந்து ஒரு பாதுகாவலரை ஆக்குவாயாக! நீ எங்களுக்கு உன் புறத்தால் ஓர் உதவியாளரையும் அளித்தருள்வாயாக” என்று (பிரார்த்தனை செய்து) கூறுகின்றனர்.

And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allâh, and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help."

(ஆகவே இது போன்ற சமயத்தில்) விசுவாசங்கொண்டார்களே அத்தகையோர்-அவர்கள் அல்லாஹ்வின் பாதையில் யுத்தம் செய்வார்கள், இன்னும், நிராகரித்தார்களே அத்தகையோர்-அவர்கள் (இவர்களுக்கு எதிராக) தாகூத்துடைய (ஷைத்தானுடைய) பாதையில் யுத்தம் செய்வார்கள், ஆகவே, ஷைத்தானின் நண்பர்களுக்கு எதிராக போர் செய்யுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக ஷைத்தானுடைய சூழ்ச்சி மிகவும் பலவீனமாதாக இருக்கிறது.

Those who believe, fight in the Cause of Allâh, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of Tâghût (Satan).¹ So fight you against the friends of Shaitân (Satan). Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitân (Satan).

“உங்களுடைய கைகளைத் (தற்சமயம் யுத்தம் செய்யாது) தடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள், தொழுகையையும் (உறுதியாக) நிறைவேற்றுங்கள், ஜகாத்தும் கொடுத்து வாருங்கள்” என்று எவர்களுக்குக் கூறப்பட்டதோ, அத்தகையோர்பால் (நபியே!) நீர் பார்க்கவில்லையா? (பின்னர்) யுத்தம் செய்வது அவர்கள்மீது விதிக்கப்பட்ட பொழுது அவர்களில் ஒரு பிரிவினரோ, அல்லாஹ்வுக்குப் பயப்படுவதைப்போல் அல்லது பயத்தால் அதைவிட கடினமாக (எதிரிகளான) மனிதர்களுக்குப் பயந்தார்கள், மேலும், எங்கள் இரட்சகனே! ஏன் எங்கள் மீது யுத்தத்தை விதியாக்கினாய்?, இன்னும் சிறிது காலம் எங்களுக்காக இதனைப் பிற்படுத்தி இருக்க வேண்டாமா?” என்றும் கூறினார்கள், (இதற்கு, நபியே!) நீர் கூறுவீராக! இவ்வுலக சுகம் அற்பமானதே, (அல்லாஹ்வை) பயந்து நடப்பவருக்கு மறுமை(யின் வாழ்க்கை) தான் மிக்க மேலானது (உங்களுடைய நன்மையைக் குறைத்தோ, பாவத்தைக் கூட்டியோ) நீங்கள் ஒரு நூல் அளவும் அநீதம் செய்யப்பட மாட்டீர்கள்.

Have you not seen those who were told to hold back their hands (from fighting) and perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât but when the fighting was ordained for them, behold! a section of them fear men as they fear Allâh or even more. They say: "Our Lord! Why have you ordained for us fighting? Would that You had granted us respite for a short period?" Say: "Short is the enjoyment of this world. The Hereafter is (far) better for him who fears Allâh, and you shall not be dealt with unjustly even equal to a scalish thread in the long slit of a date-stone.

நீங்கள் எங்கிருந்தபோதிலும், மரணம் உங்களை அடைந்தே தீரும், மிகப்பலமாகக் கட்டப்பட்ட கோட்டை (கொத்தளங்களில் நீங்கள் இருந்தபோதிலும் சரியே! மேலும், (நபியே! உம்முடைய கட்டளைப்படி யுத்தத்திற்குச் சென்ற அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு நன்மையும் ஏற்பட்டால், இது அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்து (எங்களுக்குக்) கிடைத்தது எனக் கூறுகின்றனர், (ஆனால்) அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு தீங்கு ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டாலோ (நபியே! இது உம்மால்தான் (எங்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்டது) எனக் கூறுகின்றனர், (ஆகவே) நீர் கூறுவீராக, (இவை) ஒவ்வொன்றும் அல்லாஹ்விடமிருந்தே உள்ளது, இந்த சமூகத்தவர்க்கு என்ன நேர்ந்து விட்டது? எவ்விஷயத்தையுமே இவர்கள் விளங்கிக் கொள்ள நெருங்கமாட்டார்கள்.

"Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you even if you are in fortresses built up strong and high!" And if some good reaches them, they say, "This is from Allâh," but if some evil befalls them, they say, "This is from you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم)." Say: "All things are from Allâh," so what is wrong with these people that they fail to understand any word?

(அன்றி, இவ்வாறு கூறுகின்றவனுக்கு) “உமக்கு யாதொரு நன்மை ஏற்பட்டால் (அது) அல்லாஹ்வினால் ஏற்பட்டது? என்றும் உமக்கு யாதொரு தீமை ஏற்பட்டால், (அது நீ இழைத்த குற்றத்தின் காரணமாக) உன்னால்தான் (வந்தது)” என்றும் (கூறுவீராக!) இன்னும், (நபியே!) நாம் உம்மை ஒரு தூதராகவே மனிதர்களிடம் அனுப்பியிருக்கின்றோம், இன்னும் (இதற்கு) சாட்சியாளனாக இருக்க அல்லாஹ் போதுமானவன்.

Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allâh, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. And We have sent you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allâh is Sufficient as a Witness.¹

எவர் (அல்லாஹ்வுடைய) தூதருக்கு (முற்றிலும்) கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடக்கின்றாரோ அவர், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே கீழப்படிந்து விட்டார், இவ்வாறு கீழ்ப்படிவதை எவரும் புறக்கணித்தால், (அதற்காக நீர் கவலைப்பட வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில்) உம்மை அவர்கள் மீது கண்காணிப்பவராக நாம் அனுப்பவில்லை.

He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), has indeed obeyed Allâh, but he who turns away, then we have not sent you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) as a watcher over them.¹

   (A) Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه : Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Whoever obeys me, he obeys Allâh, and whoever disobeys me, he disobeys Allâh, and whoever obeys the ruler I appoint, he obeys me, and whoever disobeys him, he disobeys me." (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.9, Hadîth No.251).

   (B) Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه : Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse." They said, "O Allâh’s Messenger! Who will refuse?" He said, "Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it)." (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.9, Hadîth No.384).
