மிகுந்த துர்பாக்கியமுடையவனோ, அதிலிருந்து விலகிக் கொள்வான்.

But it will be avoided by the wretched,

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால் (நரகத்தின்) பெரும் நெருப்பில் அவன் நுழைவான்.

Who will enter the great Fire (and will be made to taste its burning).

பின்னர், அதில் அவன் மரணிக்கவுமாட்டான், வாழவுமாட்டான்.

There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living).

பரிசுத்தமடைந்தவர் நிச்சயமாக வெற்றி பெற்றுவிட்டார்.

Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success,

மேலும், அவர் தன் இரட்சகனின் பெயரைக் கூறி பிறகு தொழுதார்.

And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil - additional prayers).

எனினும், நீங்களோ இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கையைத் தெரிவு செய்து கொள்கின்றீர்கள்.

Nay, you prefer the life of this world,

மறுமையின் வாழ்க்கைதான் மிகச் சிறந்ததும், மிக்க நிலையானதுமாகும்.

Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.

நிச்சயமாக இது முன்னுள்ள ஆகமங்களில் இருக்கிறது. (அதுவே)

Verily, this is in the former Scriptures -

இப்றாஹீம் மூஸாவுடைய ஆகமங்களிலும் இருக்கிறது.

The Scriptures of Ibrâhîm (Abraham) and Mûsâ (Moses) (عليهما السلام).

(நபியே!) சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளக்கூடியதின் மறுமைநாளின்) செய்தி உமக்கு வந்ததா?

Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?

அந்நாளில் (பல) முகங்கள் இழிவினால் வாடி பணிவுடையனவாயிருக்கும்.

Some faces, that Day will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians).¹

   It is obligatory to have Belief in the Messengership of the Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "By Him (Allâh) in Whose Hand Muhammad’s soul is, there is none from amongst the Jews and Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire." (Sahih Muslim , the Book of Faith, Vol.1, Chapter No.240). See also the footnotes of (V.3:85) and (V.41:46).

அவை (தவறானவற்றை நல்லவை என நினைத்து) செயல்பட்டவையும் (அதற்காக) உறுதியாக நின்றவையுமாகும்.

Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allâh), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace).¹

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Whoever dies while still invoking anything other than Allâh as a rival to Allâh, will enter Hell (Fire).’ And I said, ‘Whoever dies without invoking anything as a rival to Allâh, will enter Paradise.’" (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadith No.24).

கொழுந்துவிட்டெரியும் நெருப்பில் அவை பிரவேசிக்கும்.

They will enter in the hot blazing Fire.

கொதிக்கும் ஊற்றிலிருந்து (அவர்களுக்கு நீர்) புகட்டப்படும்.

They will be given to drink from a boiling spring,

(அதில்) அவர்களுக்கு (கசப்பான) முட்செடிகளிலிருந்தே தவிர (வேறொன்றும்) உணவுமில்லை.

No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant,

அது கொழுக்கவும் வைக்காது, அவர்களுடைய பசியையும் தீர்க்காது.

Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger.

(எனினும்) அந்நாளில் (வேறு) சில முகங்கள் மிக்க மலர்ச்சியுடையனவாக இருக்கும்.

(Other) faces that Day will be joyful,

(இம்மையில்) நாங்கள் செய்த முயற்சி (நற்பயனைத் தந்தது) பற்றி திருப்தியுடையனவாக இருக்கும்.

Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islâmic Monotheism).¹

மேலான சுவனபதியில் (அவை) இருக்கும்.

In a lofty Paradise.

அதில் யாதொரு வீண் வார்த்தையையும் (அவை) செவியுறாது.

Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood.

அதில் (இவர்கள் பருகுவதற்கு) ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் ஒரு சுனையுண்டு.

Therein will be a running spring.

அதில் உயர்ந்த ஆசனங்களுண்டு.

Therein will be thrones raised high.

(அதன் பானங்களையருந்த) வைக்கப்பட்ட குவளைகளும் (உண்டு) –

And cups set at hand.

வரிசையாக வைக்கப்பட்ட தலையணைகளும் -

And cushions set in rows.

விரிக்கப்பட்ட உயர்ந்த கம்பளங்களும் (உண்டு.)

And rich carpets (all) spread out.

ஓட்டகத்தை – அது எவ்வாறு படைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது? என்பதை அவர்கள் (கவனித்துப்) பார்க்க மாட்டார்களா?

Do they not look at the camels, how they are created?

மேலும், வானத்தின் பால்- அது எவ்வாறு உயர்த்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறது? (என்பதையும்)

And at the heaven, how it is raised?

(அசையாது ஸ்திரப்படுத்தப்பட்ட) மலைகள் பால் அவை எவ்வாறு நடப்பட்டுள்ளன? (என்பதையும்)-

And at the mountains, how they are rooted (and fixed firm)?

இன்னும், (அவர்கள் வசிக்கும்) பூமியின் பால் - அது எவ்வாறு விரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது? (என்பதையும் அவர்கள் கவனிக்கமாட்டார்களா?)

And at the earth, how it is outspread?

ஆகவே, நபியே! நல்லுபதேசம் செய்வீராக! நிச்சயமாக நீர் அவர்களுக்கு நல்லுபதேசம் செய்பவர்தாம்.

So remind them (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) - you are only one who reminds.

அவ்வாறே நடக்கும்படி அவர்கள் மீது நீர் பொறுப்புச்சாட்டப்பட்டவரல்லர்.

You are not a dictator over them -
