11. Hud

(அதைச் செவியுற்ற விருந்தினர்களான மலக்குகள்,) “லூத்தே! நிச்சயமாக நாங்கள் உமதிரட்சகனின் தூதுவர்களாவோம், (இவர்கள் நிச்சயமாக உம்மை வந்தடையவே முடியாது, இரவின் ஒருபகுதியில் நீர் உம் குடும்பத்துடன் செல்வீராக! உங்களில் ஒருவரும் (அவர்களைத்) திரும்பியும் பார்க்க வேண்டாம், (உமக்கு மாறு செய்த) உம்முடைய மனைவியைத் தவிர, அவர்களைப் பீடிக்கக்கூடிய (அழிவான)து நிச்சயமாக அவளையும் பீடிக்கும், (அழிவு வர) நிச்சயமாக இவர்களுக்கு வாக்களிக்கப்பட்ட நேரம் விடியற்காலையாகும், விடியற்காலை மிகச் சமீபமாக இல்லையா?” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They (messengers) said: "O Lût (Lot)! Verily, we are the messengers from your Lord! They shall not reach you!¹ So travel with your family in a part of the night, and let not any of you look back; but your wife (will remain behind), verily, the punishment which will afflict them, will afflict her. Indeed, morning is their appointed time. Is not the morning near?"

நம்முடைய கட்டளை வந்ததும், அவர்களுடைய ஊரின் மேல்பகுதியை அதன் கீழ்ப்பகுதியாக (தலை கீழாக) ஆக்கிவிட்டோம், அன்றியும், (அதற்கு முன்னர்) அதன் மீது சுடப்பட்ட செங்கற்களை (மழையாகப்) பொழியச் செய்தோம்.

So when Our Commandment came, We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down, and rained on them stones of baked clay, in a well-arranged manner one after another;

ஆகவே, (பொழியப்பட்ட செங்கல் ஒவ்வொன்றும்) உம் இரட்சகனால் அடையாளமிடப் பட்டதாக இருந்தது, (புரட்டப்பட்ட) அ(வ்வூரான)து இந்த அநியாயக்காரர்களுக்கு வெகு தூரமானதுமல்ல.

Marked from your Lord; and they are not ever far from the Zâlimûn (polytheists, evil-doers).

“மத்யன்” (என்னும் ஊர்வாசிகள்)பாலும் அவர்களுடைய சகோதரர் ஷுஜபை-(நம் தூதராக அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்,) அவர், “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! அல்லாஹ்வையே நீங்கள் வணங்குங்கள், உங்களுக்கு அவனைத் தவிர (வணக்கத்திற்குரிய வேறு) நாயன் இல்லை, அளவையும், நிறுவையையும் நீங்கள் குறைக்காதீர்கள், நீங்கள் நல்ல நிலைமையில் இருப்பதையே நான் காண்கிறேன், (அவ்வாறிருக்க “ஏன் மோசம் செய்கிறீர்கள்? அவ்வாறு செய்தால்,) நிச்சயமாக (உங்களைச்) சூழ்ந்து கொள்ளக்கூடிய ஒரு நாளின் வேதனையை உங்கள் மீது நான் பயப்படுகிறேன்” என்று கூறினார்.

And to the Madyan (Midian) people (We sent) their brother Shu‘aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allâh, you have no other ilâh (god) but Him, and give not short measure or weight. I see you in prosperity and verily I fear for you the torment of a Day encompassing.

“அன்றியும் என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! அளவையும், நிறுவையையும் நீதமாகவே நிறைவு செய்யுங்கள், மனிதர்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய பொருட்களைக் குறைத்தும் விடாதீர்கள், பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்கிறவர்களாக வரம்பு மீறியும் அலையாதீர்கள்”

"And O my people! Give full measure and weight in justice and reduce not the things that are due to the people, and do not commit mischief in the land, causing corruption.

“நீங்கள் விசுவாசங் கொண்டவர்களாக இருந்தால், (உங்கள் தொழிலில்) அல்லாஹ் மீதப்படுத்துவதே உங்களுக்கு மிக்க மேலானதாகும், (நீங்கள் நிறுக்கும் போதும், அளக்கும் போதும் குறைத்தால் அதன் தீய விளைவுகளிலிருந்து) நான் உங்களைப் பாதுகாப்பவனும் அல்ல” (என்றும் கூறினார்.)

"That which is left by Allâh for you (after giving the rights of the people) is better for you, if you are believers. And I am not a guardian over you.

அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “ஷுஜபே! எங்கள் மூதாதையர் வணங்கியவற்றையுமல்லாது எங்களுடைய செல்வங்களில் நாங்கள் நாடியவாறு செய்வதை நாங்கள் விட்டுவிடுமாறும் (நீர் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிடும்படி) உம்முடைய தொழுகையா உம்மை ஏவுகிறது? “ நிச்சயமாக நீர் தான் மிக்க சகிப்புத் தன்மையுடையவர், (இன்னும்) நேர்மையாளர்” என்று (பரிகாசமாகக்) கூறினார்கள்.

They said: "O Shu‘aib! Does your Salât (prayer) command that we give up what our fathers used to worship, or that we give up doing what we like with our property? Verily, you are the forbearer, right-minded!" (They said this sarcastically).

அ(தற்க)வர், என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! என் இரட்சகனின் தெளிவான அத்தாட்சியின மீது நான் இருப்பதையும், அவன் தன்னிடமிருந்து எனக்கு அழகான உணவை வழங்கி இருப்பதையும் நீங்கள் கவனித்தீர்களா? (ஆகவே) நான் (தீமையிலிருந்து) எதைவிட்டும் உங்களைத் தடுக்கின்றேனோ அதன்படி (தீமையானவற்றைச் செய்துகொண்டு) உங்களுக்கு மாறு செய்வதையும் நான் நாடவில்லை, என்னால் இயன்ற மட்டும் (உங்களைச்) சீர்திருத்துவதைத் தவிர (வேறெதையும்) நான் நாடவில்லை, எனக்கு நல்லுதவி அல்லாஹ்வைக் கொண்டே தவிர இல்லை, (என் காரியங்களை ஒப்படைத்து முழுமையாக) அவன் மீதே நான் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறேன், அவன்பாலே நான் மீளுகிறேன் என்று கூறினார்.

He said: "O my people! Tell me if I have a clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me a good sustenance from Himself (shall I corrupt it by mixing it with the unlawfully earned money). I wish not, in contradiction to you, to do that which I forbid you. I only desire reform to the best of my power. And my guidance cannot come except from Allâh, in Him I trust and unto Him I repent.

“என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! என்னுடன் நீங்கள் பகைமை கொண்டிருப்பது நூஹ் உடைய சமூகத்தாரையும் அல்லது ஹுத் உடைய சமூகத்தாரையும் அல்லது ஸாலிஹ் உடைய சமூகத்தாரையும் பீடித்தது போன்ற (வேதனையான)து, உங்களையும் பீடித்துக் கொள்ளுமாறு உங்களைத் திண்ணமாக சுமத்தி விட வேண்டாம், இன்னும், லூத்துடைய சமூகத்தார் (வாழ்ந்த காலம்) உங்களுக்குத் தொலைவில் இல்லை.

"And O my people! Let not my Shiqâq ¹ cause you to suffer the fate similar to that of the people of Nûh (Noah) or of Hûd or of Sâlih, and the people of Lût (Lot) are not far off from you!

1. i.e. separation, enmity, anger, opposition because of your disbelief in the Oneness of Allâh (Monotheism), and your worship of the idols, and your defrauding of the people (in their things), and your giving of short measure and weights to the people.

“மேலும், உங்கள் இரட்சகனிடம் நீங்கள் மன்னிப்புக் கோருங்கள், பின்னர் (மனம் வருந்தி) அவன் பக்கமே (தவ்பாச் செய்து) நீங்கள் மீளுங்கள், நிச்சயமாக என் இரட்சகன் மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன், மிக்க நேசிப்பவன்” (என்று கூறினார்.)

"And ask forgiveness of your Lord and turn unto Him in repentance. Verily, my Lord is Most Merciful, Most Loving."

அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “ஷுஜபே! நீர் கூறுபவற்றில் அநேகவற்றை நாம் விளங்கிக் கொள்ள (முடிய)வில்லை, நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம்மை எங்களில் மிக்க பலவீனமானவராகவே காண்கிறோம், மேலும், உம்முடைய குடும்பத்தார் இல்லாவிடில் உம்மைக் கல்லெறிந்து (கொன்று) இருப்போம், மேலும், நீர் நம்முடைய மதிப்பிற்குரியவரல்லர்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.

They said: "O Shu‘aib! We do not understand much of what you say, and we see you weak (it is said that he was a blind man) among us. Were it not for your family, we should certainly have stoned you and you are not powerful against us."

அ(தற்க)வர் “என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! அல்லாஹ்வைவிட என்னுடைய குடும்பத்தார் உங்களுக்கு மிக்க மதிப்புடையவர்களா? நீங்களோ (அலலாஹ்வாகிய) அவனை உங்களுடைய முதுகுக்குப் பின் தள்ளி(ப்புறக்கணித்து) விட்டீர்கள், நிச்சயமாக என் இரட்சகன் நீங்கள் செய்யக்கூடியவற்றை சூழ்ந்து அறிகிறவன்” என்று கூறினார்.

He said: "O my people! Is then my family of more weight with you than Allâh? And you have cast Him away behind your backs. Verily, my Lord is surrounding all that you do.

அன்றியும் என்னுடைய சமூகத்தாரே! நீங்கள் உங்கள் வழியில் (உங்கள் காரியத்தைச்) செய்து கொண்டிருங்கள், நானும் (என் வழியில் என் காரியத்தைச்) செய்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றேன், எவருக்கு இழிவு படுத்தும் வேதனை அவரை வந்தடையும்? (என்றும்) இன்னும், பொய்யர் யார்? என்பதையும் நீங்கள் அறிந்து கொள்வீர்கள், (அதனை) நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்தும் இருங்கள், நிச்சயமாக நான் உங்களுடன் எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்” (என்று ஷுஜப் கூறினார்.)

"And O my people! Act according to your ability and way, and I am acting (on my way). You will come to know who it is on whom descends the torment that will cover him with ignominy, and who is a liar! And watch you! Verily, I too am watching with you."

மேலும், (அவர்களிடம்) நம்முடைய கட்டளை வந்தபொழுது ஷுஜபையும் அவருடன் விசுவாசங் கொண்டிருந்தோரையும் நம்மிடமிருந்துள்ள அருளைக் கொண்டு நாம் (இரட்சித்துக்) காப்பாற்றினோம், அநியாயம் செய்தவர்களை பேரிடி முழக்கம் பிடித்துக் கொண்டது, அவர்கள் காலைப்பொழுதை தங்கள் வீடுகளில் முகம் குப்புற (இறந்து)கிடக்க அடைந்தனர்.

And when Our Commandment came, We saved Shu‘aib and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us. And As-Saihah (torment-awful cry) seized the wrong-doers, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes.

அதற்கு முன்னர் அதில் அவர்கள் வசித்திருக்காதவர்களைப் போல் - (அழிந்துவிட்டனர்.) ஸமூது நாசமானது போன்றே இந்த மத்யன் சமூகத்தார்க்கும் நாசம் ஏற்பட்டு விட்டது என்பதை அறிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

As if they had never lived there! So away with Madyan (Midian) as away with Thamûd! (All these nations were destroyed).

இன்னும் நம் வசனங்களுடனும், தெளிவான சான்றுடனும் மூஸாவை நிச்சயமாக நாம் அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்-

And indeed We sent Mûsâ (Moses) with Our Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and a manifest authority.

ஃபிர் அவ்னிடமும், அவனுடைய பிரதானிகளிடமும் (அவர் சென்றார்) ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய கட்டளையை அவர்கள் பின்பற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்தனர், ஃபிர் அவ்னுடைய கட்டளையோ நேர்மையுடையதாக இருக்கவில்லை,

To Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they followed the command of Fir‘aun (Pharaoh), and the command of Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) was no right guide.

மறுமை நாளில், அவன் தன் சமூகத்தார்க்கு முன் (வழிகாட்டியாகச்) சென்று அவர்களை (நரக) நெருப்பில் சேர்ப்பான் , அவர்கள் சென்று போய்ச்சேருமிடம் மிகக்கெட்டது.

He will go ahead of his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will lead them into the Fire, and evil indeed is the place to which they are led.

(உலகமாகிய) இதிலும், மறுமைநாளிலும் சாபத்தால் அவர்கள் தொடரப் பட்டுள்ளனர், அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட இந்த சன்மானம் மிகக் கெட்டது.

They were pursued by a curse in this (deceiving life of this world) and (so they will be pursued by a curse) on the Day of Resurrection. Evil indeed is the gift gifted [i.e. the curse (in this world) pursued by another curse (in the Hereafter)].

இவை, சில ஊர்(வாசி)களின் சம்பவங்களாகும், இவற்றை நாம் உமக்கு அறிவித்தோம், இவற்றில் சில நிலைத்து இருக்கின்றன, சில அறுவடை செய்யப்பட்டு (வேரறுக்கப்பட்டு)ம் விட்டன.

That is some of the news of the (population of) towns which We relate unto you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم); of them, some are (still) standing, and some have been (already) reaped.

இன்னும், அவர்களுக்கு நாம் அநியாயம் செய்யவில்லை, எனினும் அவர்கள் தமக்குத்தாமே அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டனர், எனவே, உமதிரட்சகனின் கட்டளை (அவர்களை அழித்துவிட) வந்த சமயத்தில், அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி அவர்கள் அழைத்து (வணங்கி)க் கொண்டிருந்த அவர்களின் வணக்கத்திற்குறியவர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு எவ்விதப் பயனளிக்கவில்லை, அன்றியும், நஷ்டத்தைத் தவிர (வேறு எதையும்) அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் அதிகப்படுத்தவில்லை.

We wronged them not, but they wronged themselves. So their âlihah (gods), other than Allâh, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they add aught to them but destruction.

ஊர்களை-அவை அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருக்க (வேதனையைக் கொண்டு) அவன் பிடித்தால் உம்முடைய இரட்சகனின் பிடி இப்படித்தான் இருக்கும், நிச்சயமாக அவனுடைய பிடியானது துன்புறுத்தக் கூடியது, மிக்க கடினமானது.

Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) the towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, (and) severe¹.

   Narrated Abu Mûsâ رضي الله عنه: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "Allâh gives respite to a Zâlim (polytheist, wrong-doer, oppressor), but when He seizes (catches) him, He never releases him." Then he recited: "Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) the towns while they are doing wrong: Verily, His Seizure is painful (and) severe." மறுமையின் வேதனையைப் பயப்படக் கூடியவருக்கு நிச்சயமாக இதில் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது, அ(ம்மறுமையான)து ஒருநாள் - அதற்காக மனிதர்கள் ஒன்று சேர்க்கப் படுவார்கள், இன்னும், அது (அவர்கள் அனைவரும் அல்லாஹ்வின் சந்நிதியில்) முன்னிலைப்படுத்தப்படும் நாளாகும்.

Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter. That is a Day whereon mankind will be gathered together, and that is a Day when all (the dwellers of the heavens and the earth) will be present.

அதற்கென குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட தவணைக்காகவே தவிர, அதனை நாம் பிற்படுத்தி வைக்கவில்லை.

And We delay it only for a term (already) fixed.

அது வரும் நாளில் அவனுடைய அனுமதியின்றி, எந்த ஆத்மாவும் (அவனுடன்) பேச முடியாது, அவர்களில் துர்பாக்கியவானும், நற்பாக்கியவானுமிருப்பர்.

On the Day when it comes, no person shall speak except by His (Allâh’s) Leave. Some among them will be wretched and (others) blessed.

எனவே, துர்ப்பாக்கியமடைந்து விட்டனரே அத்தகையோர் - நரகத்தில் (வீழ்த்தப்படுவார்கள், அப்பொழுது வேதனையத் தாங்க முடியாது) – அதில் அவர்களுக்கு (கழுதையின் சப்தத்தைப் போன்று தொடக்கத்தில்) பெரும் கூச்சலும் (இறதியில்) தேம்பியழுதலும் இருக்கும்.

As for those who are wretched, they will be in the Fire, sighing in a high and low tone.

உமதிரட்சகன் நாடினாலன்றி, வானங்கள், மற்றும் பூமி நிலைத்திருக்குங் காலமெல்லாம் அதில் அவர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக(த் தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள், நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகன் தான் நாடியதை(த் தடையின்றி)ச் செய்(து முடிப்)பவன்.

They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Verily, your Lord is the Doer of whatsoever He intends (or wills).

இன்னும் நற்பாக்கியமடைந்து விட்டனரே! அத்தகையோர்-சுவனபதியில் (நுழைந்து விடுவார்கள்.) உமதிரட்சகன் நாடினாலன்றி, வானங்கள், மற்றும் பூமி நிலைத்திருக்குங் காலமெல்லாம் அதில்தான் அவர்கள், நிரந்தரமாக(த் தங்கி) இருப்பவர்கள்.

And those who are blessed, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills: a gift without an end.

மேலும், (நபியே!) இவர்கள் வணங்குபவைகளைப் பற்றி நீர் சந்தேகத்திலிருக்க வேண்டாம், (இதற்கு) முன்னர் இவர்களுடைய மூதாதையர் (யாதொரு ஆதாரமுமின்றி) வணங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்ததைப் போன்றே தவிர இவர்களும் வணங்கவில்லை, இவர்களுடைய (வேதனையின்) பாகத்தை இவர்களுக்கும், குறைவின்றி நிச்சயமாக நாம் பூரணமாக கொடுக்கக் கூடியவர்கள்.

So be not in doubt (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) as to what these people (pagans and polytheists) worship. They worship nothing but what their fathers worshipped before (them). And verily, We shall repay them in full their portion without diminution.

மேலும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் மூஸாவுக்கு ஒருவேதத்தைக் கொடுத்தோம், பின்னர், அதில் கருத்து வேறுபாடு கொள்ளப்பட்டது, (அவர்களின் காலம் மறுமை தான் என்று) உமதிரட்சகனின் வாக்கு முன்னரே ஏற்பட்டிராவிடில், இவர்களுக்கிடையில் (இம்மையிலேயே) தீர்ப்புச் செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கும், மேலும், நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் குர் ஆனாகிய அதைப் பற்றி அவநம்பிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடிய சந்தேகத்தில் இருக்கின்றனர்.

Indeed, We gave the Book to Mûsâ (Moses), but differences arose therein, and had it not been for a Word that had gone forth before from your Lord, the case would have been judged between them, and indeed they are in grave doubt concerning it (this Qur’ân).

நிச்சயமாக உமதிரட்சகன், அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும், அவர்களுடைய செயல்(களுக்குரிய கூலி)களை திட்டமாக அவர்களுக்கு பூரணமாகக் கொடுப்பான், நிச்சயமாக அவன் அவர்கள் செய்பவற்றை நன்குணர்பவன்.

And verily, to each of them your Lord will repay their works in full. Surely, He is All-Aware of what they do.

(நபியே) உமக்கேவப்பட்ட பிரகாரம் நீரும், உம்முடன் பச்சாதாபப் பட்டோரும் (நேரான வழியில்) உறுதியாக இருங்கள், (இதில்) நீங்கள் வரம்பு மீறியும் விடாதீர்கள், நிச்சயமாக அவன் நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றைப் பார்க்கிறவன்.

So stand (ask Allâh to make) you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) firm and straight (on the religion of Islâmic Monotheism) as you are commanded and those (your companions) who turn in repentance (unto Allâh) with you, and transgress not (Allâh’s Legal Limits). Verily, He is All-Seer of what you do.

(விசுவாசிகளே!) இன்னும், அநியாயம் செய்து கொண்டிருப்போரின் பால் (சிறிதும்) நீங்கள் சாய்ந்துவிடாதீர்கள், அவ்வாறாயின், நரக நெருப்பு உங்களைத் தீண்டிவிடும், அல்லாஹ்வையன்றி எந்த உற்ற நேசர்களும் உங்களுக்கு இல்லை, பின்னர், (எவராலும்) நீங்கள் உதவி செய்யப்பட மாட்டீர்கள்.

And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allâh, nor you would then be helped.¹

   The sin of the person who gives refuge or helps a person who innovates a heresy (in the religion) or commits sins. This has been narrated by ‘Ali رضي الله عنه on the authority of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.

   Narrated ‘Âsim: I said to Anas, "Did Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم make Al-Madinah a sanctuary?" He replied, "Yes, Al-Madinah is a sanctuary from such and such place to such and such place. It is forbidden to cut its trees, and whoever innovates a heresy in it or commits a sin therein, will incur the Curse of Allâh, the angels, and all the people," Then Mûsâ bin Anas told me that Anas added, "... or gives refuge to such a heretic or a sinner ..."

   (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.9, Hadith No.409).

மேலும், பகலின் இருமுனை(களாகிய காலை, மாலை)களிலும், இரவின் நேரங்களிலும் தொழுகையை நிறைவேற்றுவீராக! நிச்சயமாக நற்செயல்கள் தீய செயல்களைப் போக்கிவிடும், (அல்லாஹ்வை) நினைவு கூர்வோருக்கு இது ஒரு நல்லுபதேசமாகும்.

And perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât ), at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night [i.e. the five compulsory Salât (prayers)]. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins). That is a reminder (an advice) for the mindful (those who accept advice). ¹

   (A) Narrated Ibn Mas‘ûd رضي الله عنه: A man kissed a woman and then came to Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم and told him of that. So this Divine Revelation was revealed to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم "And perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât ) at the two ends of the day, and in some hours of the night; [i.e. the (five) compulsory Salât (prayers)]. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (small sins). That is a reminder for the mindful." (V.11:114). The man said, "Is this instruction for me only?" The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "It is for all those of my followers who encounter a similar situation." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadith No: 209).

   (B) Narrated Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه: Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said to me: "(a) Be afraid of Allâh and keep your duty to him wherever you may be. (b) And follow up the evil deeds with the good deeds, (verily) the good deeds remove (blot out) the evil deeds. (c) And (treat) behave with the people in a high standard of character." (This Hadith is quoted by At-Tirmidhi).

மேலும், (நபியே) பொறுமையுடன் இருப்பீராக! நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் அழகானவற்றைச் செய்தோரின் கூலியை வீணாக்கிவிட மாட்டான்.

And be patient; verily, Allâh wastes not the reward of the good-doers.

உங்களுக்கு முன்னிருந்த சமூகத்தார்களில், பூமியில் குழப்பம் செய்யாது தடுத்து வரக்கூடிய அறிவாளிகள் இருந்திருக்கவேண்டாமா? அவர்களிலிருந்து நாம் யாரைக் காப்பாற்றினோமோ அந்த சொற்ப எண்ணிக்கையினர் தவிர (மற்ற அனைவரும் குழப்பவாதிகளாக இருந்தனர்.) ஆனால், அநியாயக்காரர்கள் எதில் சுகபோகமாக்கப் பட்டிருந்தார்களோ அதனையே பின்பற்றினார்கள், இன்னும் குற்றம் செய்பவர்களாகவும் இருந்தனர்.

If only there had been among the generations before you persons having wisdom, prohibiting (others) from Al-Fasâd (disbelief, polytheism, and all kinds of crimes and sins) in the earth, (but there were none) - except a few of those whom We saved from among them! Those who did wrong pursued the enjoyment of good things of (this worldly) life, and were Mujrimûn (criminals, disbelievers in Allâh, polytheists, sinners).

இன்னும், (நபியே!) ஊர்களை-அவ்வூரார் சீர்திருத்துபவர்களாக இருக்கும் நிலையில், அநியாயமாக உமதிரட்சகன் அழித்து விடுபவனாக இல்லை.

And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were right-doers.

மேலும், உமதிரட்சகன் நாடியிருந்தால் (அனைத்து) மனிதர்களை ஒரே சமூகத்தினராக ஆக்கியிருப்பான், இன்னும், அவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள் மாறுபட்டுக் கொண்டவர்களாவே இருப்பார்கள்-

And if your Lord had so willed, He could surely have made mankind one Ummah [nation or community (following one religion i.e. Islâm)] but they will not cease to disagree.

(அவர்களில்) உமதிரட்சகன் அருள் புரிந்தவர்களைத் தவிர, இதற்காகவே (மாறுபடும்) அவர்களைப் படைத்துமிருக்கிறான், “(பாவம் செய்த) ஜின்கள், மற்றும் மனிதர்கள் ஆகிய அனைவராலும் நிச்சயமாக நான் நரகத்தை நிரப்புவேன்” என்ற உமதிரட்சகன் வாக்கும் பூர்த்தியாகிவிட்டது.

Except him on whom your Lord has bestowed His Mercy (the follower of truth - Islâmic Monotheism) and for that¹ did He create them. And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled (i.e. His Saying): "Surely, I shall fill Hell with jinn and men all together."

1. i.e. to show mercy to the good-doers, the blessed ones who are destined to paradise, and not to show mercy to the evil-doers, the wretched ones who are destined to Hell [this is the statement of Ibn Abbâs رضي الله عنهما, as quoted in Tafsir Qurtubi].

நம் தூதர்களின் செய்திகளிலிருந்து உம் இதயத்தை எதைக்கொண்டு நாம் உறுதிப்படுத்துவோமோ அவை ஒவ்வொன்றையும் நாம் உமக்குக் கூறினோம், உமக்கு இவற்றில் உண்மை(யானவை)யும் விசுவாசிகளுக்கு நல்லுபதேசமும் நினைவூட்டலும் வந்துவிட்டது.

And all that We relate to you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) of the news of the Messengers is in order that We may make strong and firm your heart thereby. And in this (chapter of the Qur’an) has come to you the truth, as well as an admonition and a reminder for the believers.
