விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! (நீங்கள் சாட்சி கூறினால், அது உங்களுக்கோ, அல்லது உங்கள் பெற்றோருக்கோ, அல்லது நெருங்கிய உறவினருக்கோ விரோதமாக இருந்த போதிலும், நீதியை நிலைநிறுத்தியவர்களாக அல்லாஹ்வுக்காகவே சாட்சி கூறுபவர்களாக இருங்கள், (சாட்சி கூறப்படும்) அவர் பணக்காரராக இருந்தாலும் சரி, அல்லது ஏழையாக இருந்தாலும் சரி (உண்மையையே கூறுங்கள்.) அல்லாஹ் அவ்விருவருக்கும் (அவர்களைக் காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு) மிக உரியவன், இன்னும், நீங்கள் நியாயம் வழங்குவதில் (உங்கள் மனோ) இச்சையைப் பின்பற்றாதீர்கள், நீங்கள் (சாட்சியத்தை) மாற்றிக் கூறினாலும் அல்லது (சாட்சி கூறாது) புறக்கணித்தாலும், நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ், நீங்கள் செய்பவற்றை நன்குணர்பவனாக இருக்கின்றான்.

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allâh, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allâh is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you avoid justice; and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allâh is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do.¹

1. Narrated Anas رضي الله عنه: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was asked about the great sins. He said, They are:

   a) To join others in worship with Allâh.

   b) To be undutiful to one’s parents.

   c) To kill a person (which Allâh has forbidden to be killed i.e. to commit the crime of murdering).

   d) And to give a false witness.

   (Sahih Al-Bukhâri, Vol.3, Hadîth No.821).

விசுவாசங்கொண்டோரே! நீங்கள் அல்லாஹ்வையும், அவனுடைய தூதரையும் அவன் தன்னுடைய (இத்)தூதர் மீது இறக்கிவைத்த இவ்வேதத்தையும் (இதற்கு) முன்னர் அவன் இறக்கிய வேதங்களையும் விசுவாசியுங்கள், இன்னும் எவர் அல்லாஹ்வையும், அவனுடைய மலக்குகளையும், அவனுடைய வேதங்களையும், அவனுடைய தூதர்களையும் இறுதி நாளையும் நிராகரிக்கின்றாரோ, நிச்சயமாக அவர் மிக தூரமான வழிகேடாக வழிகெட்டு விட்டார்.

O you who believe! Believe in Allâh, and His Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and the Book (the Qur’ân) which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (him); and whosoever disbelieves in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away.

நிச்சயமாக விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, பின்னர் நிராகரித்து, பின்னர் அவர்கள் விசுவாசங்கொண்டு, பின்னரும், நிராகரித்து, பின்னரும் நிராகரிப்பை அதிகப்படுத்திக் கொண்டனரே அத்தகையோர் - அவர்களை அல்லாஹ் மன்னிப்பவனாக இல்லை; இன்னும் அவர்களுக்கு (நேர்) வழி காட்டுபவனாகவும், இல்லை.

Verily, those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe (again), and (again) disbelieve, and go on increasing in disbelief; Allâh will not forgive them, nor guide them on the (Right) Way.

(நபியே! வேஷதாரிகளாகிய) முனாஃபிக்குகளுக்கு நிச்சயமாகத் துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனை உண்டென்று நீர் அவர்களுக்கு நன்மாராயங் கூறுவீராக.

Give to the hypocrites the tidings that there is for them a painful torment.¹

அத்தகையோர் விசுவாசிகளைத் தவிர்த்து நிராகரிப்போரையே (தங்கள்) பாதுகாவலர்களாக எடுத்துக் கொள்கிறார்கள், இவர்கள், அவர்களிடத்தில் கண்ணியத்தை அடையத் தேடுகிறார்களா? (அது அவர்களுக்கில்லை, ஏனெனில்) நிச்சயமாக கண்ணியம் அனைத்தும் அல்லாஹ்வுக்கே உரியதாகும்.

Those who take disbelievers for Auliyâ’ (protectors or helpers or friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allâh belongs all honour, power and glory.

மேலும், அல்லாஹ்வுடைய வசனங்களை – அவற்றை நிராகரிக்கப்படுவதையோ-அல்லது பரிகசிக்கப்படுவதையோ நீங்கள் செவியுற்றால் அவர்கள் இதனைத் தவிர்த்து வேறு விஷயத்தில் ஈடுபடும் வரையில் நீங்கள் அவர்களுடன் உட்கார வேண்டாம் என நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ்வாகிய அவன் (இவ்)வேதத்தில் உங்களுக்கு இறக்கி வைத்திருக்கிறான், (அவ்வாறு உட்கார்ந்தால்) அந்நேரத்தில் நிச்சயமாக நீங்களும் அவர்களைப் போன்றுதான் (ஆவீர்கள்), நிச்சயமாக அல்லாஹ் (வேஷதாரிகளான) முனாஃபிக்குகள் இன்னும் நிராகரிப்போர்கள் அனைவரையும் நரகத்தில் ஒன்று சேர்த்துவிடக்கூடியவன்.

And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Qur’ân) that when you hear the Verses of Allâh being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allâh will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell.
