மொழிபெயர்ப்பு: மன்னர் ஃபஹத் குர்ஆன் அச்சக வளாகம்
Translation: Dr. Muhsin Khan / Al-Allamah Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
மேலும், “உங்களையும், (உங்களுக்கு) முன்னவர்களான படைப்பினரையும் எவன் படைத்தானோ அத்தகையவனை நீங்கள் பயப்படுங்கள்” (என்று கூறினார்.)
"And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old."
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
அ(தற்க)வர்கள், “நீரோ சூனியம் செய்யப்பட்டவர்களில் உள்ளவர்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.
They said: "You are only one of those bewitched!
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
மேலும், “நீர் எங்களைப் போன்ற ஒரு மனிதரே தவிர வேறு இல்லை, இன்னும், நிச்சயமாக நாம் உம்மைப் பொய்யர்களில் உள்ளவராக எண்ணுகிறோம்.
"You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars!
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
“எனவே, நீர் உண்மையாளர்களில் உள்ளவராக இருந்தால் வானத்திலிருந்து பல துண்டுகளை எங்களின் மீது விழச்செய்வீராக” (என்று கூறினார்கள்)
"So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!"
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
அ(தற்க)வர், “நீங்கள் செய்து கொண்டிருப்பவற்றை என் இரட்சகன் மிக்க அறிந்தவன்” என்று கூறினார்.
He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do."
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
பின்னரும், அவர்கள் அவரைப் பொய்யாக்கினார்கள், ஆகவே, (அடர்ந்திருண்ட மேகங்களின்) நிழலுடைய நாளின் வேதனை அவர்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டது, நிச்சயமாக அது மகத்தான (கடினமான) நாளின் வேதனையாக இருந்தது.
But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them. Indeed that was the torment of a Great Day.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
நிச்சயமாக இதிலோர் அத்தாட்சி இருக்கிறது, அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் விசுவாசங்கொள்வோராக இருக்கவுமில்லை.
Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
மேலும், நிச்சயமாக (நபியே!) உமதிரட்சகன் - அவன்தான் (யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவன், மிகக் கிருபையுடையவன்.
And verily your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
மேலும், (நபியே!) நிச்சயமாக (குர் ஆனாகிய) இது அகிலத்தாரின் இரட்சகனால் இறக்கிவைக்கப்பட்டதாகும்.
And truly, this (the Qur’ân) is a revelation from the Lord of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists),
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
(அல்லாஹ்வின் கட்டளைப்படி) ரூஹூல் அமீன் (எனும் ஜிப்ரீல்) இதனைக் கொண்டு இறங்கினார்.
Which the trustworthy Rûh [Jibrîl (Gabriel)] has brought down
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
ஆச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்பவர்களில் (ஒருவராக) நீர் ஆவதற்காக உமது இதயத்தின் மீது (கூடுதல் குறைவின்றி இதைக் கொண்டு இறங்கினார்.
Upon your heart (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) that you may be (one) of the warners,
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
தெளிவான அரபிமொழியைக் கொண்டு இறங்கினார்.
In the plain Arabic language.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
நிச்சயமாக (குர் ஆனாகிய) இது (பற்றிய அறிவிப்பு) மூத்தவர்களின் வேத நூல்களிலும் (கூறப்பட்டு) உள்ளது.
And verily, it (the Qur’ân, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people.
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
இஸ்ராயீலின் மக்களிலுள்ள அறிஞர்கள் இதனை அறிந்திருப்பது அவர்களுக்கு(ப் போதுமான) அத்தாட்சியாக இருக்கவில்லையா?
Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like ‘Abdullâh bin Salâm رضي الله عنه who embraced Islâm)1 of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
நாம் (குர் ஆனாகிய) இதை அரபியல்லாத சிலரின் மீது இறக்கி வைத்திருப்போமாயின்,
And if We had revealed it (this Qur’ân) unto any of the non-Arabs,
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
பின்னர், அவர்(கள்,) இதை அவர்களுக்கு ஓதிக்காட்டினாலும், இதனை அவர்கள் விசுவாசம் கொள்கிறவர்களாக இல்லை.
And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it.
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
இவ்வாறே இதனை (இக்)குற்றவாளிகளின் இதயங்களில் நாம் புகுத்தி விட்டோம்.
Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Qur’ân) to enter the hearts of the Mûjrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners).
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
(ஆகவே! துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையை) அவர்கள் (கண் கூடாகக்) காணும் வரை இதனைக் கொண்டு அவர்கள் விசுவாசிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.
They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment.
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
ஆகவே, அ(த் தண்டனையான)து அவர்கள் உணர்ந்து கொள்ளாதிருக்கும் நிலையில் திடீரென அவர்களிடம் வரும்.
It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not.
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
அது சமயம் அவர்கள் “நாங்கள் (சிறிது) அவகாசம் கொடுக்கப்படுவோரா?” என்று கேட்பார்கள்.
Then they will say: "Can we be respited?"
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
“நம்முடைய வேதனைக்காகவா அவர்கள் அவசரப்படுகிறார்கள்”
Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on?
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
(நபியே!) நீர் பார்த்தீரா? நாம் இவர்களை (இவர்கள் இஷ்டப்பட்டவாறு) பல வருடங்கள் சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்திருந்தால் -
Tell Me, (even) if We do let them enjoy for years,
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
பின்னர் அவர்கள் வாக்களிக்கப்படுபவர்களாக இருந்தார்களே அ(வ்வேதனையான)து அவர்களுக்கு வந்துவிட்டால் -
And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised,
