26. Ash-Shu'ara

(ஆகவே! துன்புறுத்தும் வேதனையை) அவர்கள் (கண் கூடாகக்) காணும் வரை இதனைக் கொண்டு அவர்கள் விசுவாசிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.

They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment.

ஆகவே, அ(த் தண்டனையான)து அவர்கள் உணர்ந்து கொள்ளாதிருக்கும் நிலையில் திடீரென அவர்களிடம் வரும்.

It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not.

அது சமயம் அவர்கள் “நாங்கள் (சிறிது) அவகாசம் கொடுக்கப்படுவோரா?” என்று கேட்பார்கள்.

Then they will say: "Can we be respited?"

“நம்முடைய வேதனைக்காகவா அவர்கள் அவசரப்படுகிறார்கள்”

Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on?

(நபியே!) நீர் பார்த்தீரா? நாம் இவர்களை (இவர்கள் இஷ்டப்பட்டவாறு) பல வருடங்கள் சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்திருந்தால் -

Tell Me, (even) if We do let them enjoy for years,

பின்னர் அவர்கள் வாக்களிக்கப்படுபவர்களாக இருந்தார்களே அ(வ்வேதனையான)து அவர்களுக்கு வந்துவிட்டால் -

And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised,

அவர்கள் சுகமனுபவிக்கச் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தவை அவர்களுக்கு யாதொரு பயனும் தராது.

All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them.

எந்த ஊ(ரா)ரையும் அதற்கு அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிப்பவர்கள் இல்லாது நாம் அழித்துவிடவில்லை.

And never did We destroy a township but it had its warners

அவர்களுக்கு நினைவூட்டவே (எச்சரிக்கையாளர்களை நாம் அனுப்பினோம்) இன்னும் (எவருக்கும்) அநியாயம் செய்பவர்களாகவும் நாம் இருக்கவில்லை.

By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust.

இன்னும், (குர் ஆனாகிய) இ(வ்வேதத்)தைக் கொண்டு ஷைத்தான்கள் இறங்கவில்லை.

And it is not the Shayâtîn (devils) who have brought it (this Qur’ân) down.

மேலும், (அது அவர்களுக்குத் தகுதியுமன்று.) அவர்கள் (அதற்கு) சக்தி பெறவுமாட்டார்கள்.

Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it).

“நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் செவியேற்பதிலிருந்தும் தடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களாவர்.

Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it.

எனவே, அல்லாஹ்வுடன் வேறோர் நாயனை நீர் அழைக்காதீர், (அவ்வாறு அழைத்தால்) அதனால் நீர் வேதனை செய்யப்படுபவர்களில் (உள்ளவராக) ஆகிவிடுவீர்.

So invoke not with Allâh another ilâh (god) lest you should be among those who receive punishment.

இன்னும் நீர் உம்முடைய நெருங்கிய உறவினர்களை அச்சமூட்டி எச்சரிக்கை செய்வீராக!

And warn your tribe (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) of near kindred.¹

   Narrated Ibn ‘Abbâs رضي الله عنهما: When the Verse: "And warn your tribe (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) of near kindred." (V.26:214) was revealed, Allâh’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم went out, and when he had ascended As-Safa mountain, he shouted, "Yâ Sabâhâh!*" The people said, "Who is that?" "Then they gathered around him, whereupon he said, "Do you see? If I inform you that cavalrymen are proceeding up the side of this mountain, will you believe me?" They said, "We have never heard you telling a lie." Then he said, "I am a plain warner to you of a coming severe punishment." Abû Lahab said: "May you perish! You gathered us only for this reason?" Then Abû Lahab went away. So Sûrat Al-Masad "Perish the hands of Abû Lahab!" (V.111:1) was revealed. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadîth No.495).

   * "Yâ Sabâhâh!" is an Arabic expression used when one appeals for help or draws the attention of others to some danger.

இன்னும் விசுவாசிகளில் உம்மைப் பின்பற்றியோருக்கு உம்முடைய (அன்பு காட்டுதல் எனும்) இறக்கையைத் தாழ்த்துவீராக!

And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you.

ஆகவே, உமக்கு அவர்கள் மாறு செய்தால், “நிச்சயமாக நீங்கள் செய்வதைவிட்டும் நான் நீங்கியவன்” என்று கூறுவீராக!

Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do."

(யாவரையும்) மிகைத்தவனாகிய, மிகக் கிருபையுடையவனின் மீது (சகலத்தையும் ஒப்படைத்து) முழுமையாக நம்பிக்கை வைப்பீராக!

And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful,

அவன் எத்தகையவனென்றால், நீர் (தனித்து வணங்குவதற்காக) நிற்கும் சமயத்தில் அவன் உம்மைப் பார்க்கிறான்.

Who sees you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers).

சிரம் பணிவோரில் (ரூகூவு, ஸுஜுது செய்வது கொண்டு நீர் இருக்கின்றபோது) உம்முடைய இயங்குதலையும் (அவன் பார்க்கிறான்)

And your movements among those who fall prostrate (to Allâh in the five compulsory congregational prayers).

நிச்சயமாக அவன் -அவனே செவியேற்கிறவன், நன்கறிகிறவன்.

Verily He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.

(விசுவாசிகளே!) ஷைத்தான்கள் எவர்மீது இறங்குகின்றனர் என்பதை உங்களுக்கு நான் அறிவிக்கட்டுமா?

Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayâtîn (devils) descend?

(செயலால்) பாவியான, (செயலால்) அதிகமாகப் பொய்கூறும் ஒவ்வொருவரின் மீதும் அவர்கள் இறங்குகின்றனர்.

They descend on every lying, sinful person.

தாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டதை (அப்பொய்யர்களின் காதுகளில்) போடுகிறார்கள், அவர்களில் பெரும்பாலோர் (பெரும்) பொய்யர்களே!

Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the Unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars.

இன்னும் கவிஞர்கள் - அவர்களை வழிகெட்டவர்கள் தாம் பின்பற்றுகிறார்கள்.

As for the poets, the erring ones follow them,

நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் ஒவ்வொரு பள்ளத்தாக்கிலும் (தட்டழிந்து) திரிகிறார்கள் என்பதை நீர் காணவில்லையா?

See you not that they speak about every subject (praising people - right or wrong) in their poetry?

இன்னும் நிச்சயமாக அவர்கள் தாங்கள் செய்யாதவைகளைச் செய்ததாகக் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

And that they say what they do not do.

(ஆயினும் அவர்களில்) விசுவாசங்கொண்டு நற்கருமங்களையும் செய்து, அல்லாஹ்வையும் அதிகமாக நினைவுகூர்ந்து, தாங்கள் அநியாயம் செய்யப்பட்ட பின் பழி தீர்த்துக்கொண்டார்களே அத்தகையோரைத் தவிர. மேலும், அநியாயம் செய்தோர், தாங்கள் எந்த மீளும் தலத்திற்கு திரும்பச் செல்ல வேண்டுமென்பதை (அதிசீக்கிரத்தில்) அறிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

Except those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh - Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, and remember Allâh much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged [by replying back in poetry to the unjust poetry (which the pagan poets utter against the Muslims)]. And those who do wrong will come to know by what overturning they will be overturned.
