وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَٰجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا ۖ فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا فَعَلْنَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
உங்களிலிருந்து எவரேனும் மனைவிகளை விட்டுவிட்டு இறந்து விட்டால் (அம்மனைவியரான) அவர்கள் தமக்காக நான்கு மாதம் பத்து நாட்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருப்பர். (இதற்கு மரண இத்தா என்று பெயர்) ஆதலால், அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய (‘இத்தா’வின்) தவணையை அடைந்து விட்டால், அப்பொழுது தங்களில் நியாயமான முறையில் (அலங்காரம்) ஏதும் செய்து கொள்கின்றவற்றில் உங்கள் மீது குற்றமில்லை. நீங்கள் செய்வதை அல்லாஹ் நன்குணர்கின்றவன்.
மொழிபெயர்ப்பு: மன்னர் ஃபஹத் குர்ஆன் அச்சக வளாகம்
And those of you who die and leave wives behind them, they (the wives) shall wait (as regards their marriage) for four months and ten days, then when they have fulfilled their term, there is no sin on you if they (the wives) dispose of themselves in a just and honourable manner (i.e. they can marry). And Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do.
